Ok so this adorable spot with great outdoor seating was recommended by colleagues. I lucked out and was passing through on a Wednesday, their shortest workday.
I got the special: Spaghetti, salad and garlic toast. The appearance caught me off guard, but the meat sauce was good, especially if you like it sweetened. However, I couldn’t tell that they even cracked open a can of tomato sauce/paste. Absolutely no sauce and the run off in the container was pretty thin and nearly clear. I also recommend grilling the onions and green peppers first. I want their flavor but not their texture when eating spaghetti sauce.
The salad and dressing (unchilled) were fine.
The garlic toast, pretty much taste like the contents on the grill. I would’ve preferred a softer garlic bread toasted.
The bbq sandwich I did not like. The pork was chewy and the thick cabbage leaves were made in the Cole slaw. Please just use the light colored more tender leaves.
The bbq sauce was absolutely delicious. Had a sweet peppery kick to it. I would buy it in a bottle.
The chocolate cake was fresh and your basic cake mix but hit the spot if you want something sweet. My issue, why call it a chocolate cake when it’s a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
The lemonade is great.
Their prices are great.
Their service is fast and friendly.
Worth giving it a second shot.

Dive through or walk up NC style BBQ and burger joint. Definitely not bad… its average (and I mean that positive) you can taste that they try to do well. Our BBQ sandwiches were on the dry side, but there was good smoke and spice in the flavor mix. We will return and try it again.

3rd time in 3 weeks, just threw another $15 in the trash. Chicken so dry it just breaks into concrete rocks, the rib meat couldn’t even be chewed let alone be pulled from the bone, potato salad was warm and gross, and I’ve never had a decent French fry with anything from here.
It’s happened too many times over the past year,

Outstanding bbq and chicken will definitely make a detour to stop here when heading to the beach and heading back home to Charlotte Nc. Real deal this restaurant right here! September 24th 2025 visited Papa Bill’s for the third time from Charlotte North Carolina when traveling to Myrtle Beach on the way back home. The cashier on the left side did a fantastic job today(Wednesday) and want her to be recognized. A+! Giovanni my 4.5 year goldendoodle approved your bbq and chicken.

Papa Bill’s is absolutely amazing. The hosts are very friendly and fast paced but still not pushy. Prices are great and the quality of food was beyond expectation, I live in fayetteville but I will be going out of my way to come back.

Waited over 10 minutes in the drive thru. The bbq and fried chicken were extremely dry and overcooked. The baked beans were almost nothing but sauce, very few beans. Unfortunately this was our first and last time eating here.
