First time trying Papa Allen’s and won’t be my last. I guess they thought their grilled chicken hoagie was better than the breaded chicken hoagie that I ordered but you know what? I’m not mad at it. It was SO good!! That chicken was delicious. I got fries with cheese and that was average but good. If I want a bread chicken hoagie should I order a grilled? Hahaha jk.

I will say that the pizza was awesome. I bought cannoli’s though and this is what I got. For almost $8 I was really disappointed and honestly feel like it should have been refunded. There was pretty much no filling, the shell was soggy and there was no chocolate. Would not recommend.

Visiting from Winnipeg with my two sons who wanted pizza. I followed a reviewer’s recommendation and ordered the buffalo chicken, meat lovers and breadsticks. Both pizzas were Excellent! Breadsticks were perfect. The buffalo chicken was a bit too spicy for the boys so be wary if you are not a spicy person.

My first time ordering here Ordered a Philly whole steak hoagie & garlic wings when I got home it was gyro meat cheese & onions nothing more barely no meat on the hoagie chicken bland more garlic less butter. Everytime I ride pass here thers not a lot of customers and now I see why. Wings was ok. Not recommended Go elsewhere like Genoa pizza or Cafe Milano on 6th Street

We ordered mozzarella sticks, broccoli puffs, a Hawaiian Sicilian pizza and a Five cheese pizza. Ready within 15-20 mins my husband walked across the street from Stay Pgh and picked up our order with paper plates and napkins. Food was excellent!

I am a point park college student so I get a discount but prices are cheap. You definitely get your moneys worth. I typically get 1 slice and it’s pretty big and always fresh. They are open late so it’s an amazing late night snack. Workers are always super nice as well!!

When we arrived to town I initially saw this place and thought no way I’m going there tonight. As the place looked run down and sketchy. However, We decided to stop in late Sunday night after a long day of drinking. We were pleasantly surprised it was still open. We sat down and it seemed like it took 3 min for the pizza to be out. The pizza was actually good. So good we decided to stop there the very next night to confirm it was good sober . Looks can be deceiving. Def stop in and get you a pizza! Nice staff, good pizza and good prices! If I come back to Pittsburgh I’ll definitely be stopping again!

Found what appeared to be a little “hole in the wall” pizza joint, that was across the place I was staying at while in Pittsburgh, cousin seemed a little skeptical, as did I, but, we ended up there after our first night in town…
Following a late night of drinking we struggled to find a business that would still serve us food, while returning to our room, we’d seen the sign flashing open at Pappa Allen’s, and was drawn to it like a moth to street lights.
It seems grimey on outside, mainly due to the age and architecture in a part of the city that’s on the downs, but, the inside is absolutely clean, and cozy. While it’s not big, both visits for me here, wasn’t super packed so finding a seat was easy enough.
Grab your own napkins, utensils, plates, and drinks and wait for your food. Prices were incredibly reasonable, service was fairly fast, and the staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs.
The true test, the Pizza itself, was absolutely incredible. So much, so, that we decided to eat here both of our nights in Pittsburgh and I’ve already spread the word to others planning to visit the area.
An incredible little mom and pop shop pizzeria, that offers the best of slice, all hours of the night.
I’ll definitely return!

They are great friendly people that work here and own it every time I come in they great you with a friendly smile and great customer service the food is always great never a problem nice place to eat n and hangout very professional an the pizza is the best nice big slices and some of the other food there is great always a great experience when I come there which is basically everynite
