What a surprise! We had to spend a couple days in the area and found this local BBQ restaurant. We love BBQ and visit every local one we find when out of town. I had surgery so my wife had to get takeout. She got the pork cornbread bowl and raved about it. I got the brisket sandwich. Let me tell ya, when you order brisket at any restaurant, this is what you hope to get! Not too fatty, but juicy and cooked to perfection! I can’t remember the last time I had brisket this good. I tried 4 sauces and all were excellent, but my favorite was the jalapeno raspberry. Perfect blend of sweet and hot. We’ll be back in September!

The Food:
Very tasty. The menu items are uniquely familiar and more importantly delicious. We ordered the brisket sandwich, brined pickle, brisket tacos, pulled pork sandwich, loaded baked potato w pulled chicken, cornbread bowl , cobblers for dessert, and watermelon ice tea. Each item was fantastic, with my favorite being the loaded baked potato side. Picking my favorite menu item was difficult because the brisket was perfect. The brisket was certainly the best I’ve ever been served.
We also were given to-go samples of all their different home made bbq sauces. Each bbq sauce variety had very well thought out complimentary flavor intentions.
After ordering some delicious watermelon ice tea, the staff graciously filled my tea up into a very nice “swell” style reusable metal water bottle which was then given to me free of charge.
The Place: Very friendly and generous environment. The staff working there went above and beyond. Staff member answered many questions about the menu. The staff member also described and explained all the different variety of bbq sauces.

Pap pap’s smokehouse has some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had!! I’ve never had a bad meal here and I’ve been going here for quite a while!! You have to try the brisket and the pulled pork and the pork belly and the breakfast menu, I can go on and on about this place it’s so good!!! And best of all it’s ran by great people with big hearts that do a ton for the community thanks again Jody Martin for all you do!

I hardly ever write reviews but this place deserves a bit of my time.
My mother-in-law and I went for lunch last week. The indoor seating space is small but sufficient. The tables are actually picnic tables which is very unique and adds to the BBQ vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful. The owner, Jody, was also there and came to talk with us. He was incredibly friendly and kind and our conversation with him was enjoyable. He gave us suggestions from the menu because it was SO hard to decide. Everything on the menu looked amazing but we both decided to get the brisket melt. I have never had a more tender, juicy brisket! Amazing!! I also had his coleslaw and hot pepper cheese ball thing — both were excellent. Jody makes most (if not all) of his recipes and I can tell you, from my experience, he knows what he is doing. We tried several of his BBQ sauces and a smoked pickle (sounds odd but it was good!).
This place is a gem! They also have outdoor seating for warmer weather and even a little play set for kids. I live nearly an hour away but I will be going back soon and taking other family and friends along. Totally worth the drive for such a great experience!

My family came to pap paps smokehouse for breakfast and it was amazing! The brisket was the best I’ve had! We also tried the biscuits and gravy, sausage, pancakes, and eggs. Everything was great! The owner was very personable and our 11 month old even let him hold her (she is very picky about that!) we will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

We ordered supper last night, and everything was AMAZING! We tried the coleslaw, baked beans, loaded potato with pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. Seriously, every thing we tried was better than the last. The ribs were literally fall off the bone tender! I’ve travelled all over the country and this food is right up there with the best I’ve had. The staff was all super friendly and helpful, which was nice. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Can’t wait to go back, and I’m telling my friends they need to try this place!

So gladI tried it yesterday. Had take-out, a pulled pork sandwich that was truly the best ever – even beats out the one’s you get in the South. So flavorful, so moist ( pork can be dry) and a very generous portion, and the bun didn’t get soggy. Delicious ! The side dishes and the rest of the menu sounded really good and I will definitely go again. I highly recommend Pap Pap’s. The owner was so pleasant too.

I have order food here many times. I’ve had pulled pork, the barbecued ribs, the mac and cheese with pulled pork and brisket. Not once have I had a bad meal there. With dine in and carry out service it’s one of the best local restaurants around that makes you feel like family. Looking forward to having their breakfast that is being offered soon.

We ordered the Party Platters for my Dad’s retirement party. The food was a hit! Everyone loved it, and they made it so easy. I submitted an online message asking for additional information and they responded within the hour with answers to all of my questions. Pick up was a breeze. The food was hot and ready, and they even helped carry it out to our vehicle! I definitely recommend them for any party.

Very friendly staff. Quick service but the food was not good. The only part we kinda liked was the slaw. The half chicken was the most greasy chicken i have ever seen. It leaked all over the bag, the other food containers, table and then dripped onto the floor. No plate was given to eat off of but the foil it was wrapped in. He did not finish it. The pulled pork was ok. It was not as greasy, but lacked flavor and smoke…. the bbq sauce they gave us to try was good, but they have way to much sugar in them but i appreciate that they make their own. The beans tasted they came out of a can and some liquid smoke and maybe some of their bbq sauce was put in it. The prices are way to high for the quality. Maybe cut back the grease and save yourself some expenses on buying oil or whatever you add to that stuff and lower the prices… giving two stars for staff and quick service. NOT THE FOOD.
