We recently discovered a new local Indian restaurant in our neighborhood, located near Safeway in Pacifica. We tried the goat biryani, chicken curry, and garlic naan, and all dishes were exceptionally flavorful and well-prepared. You might want to customize the spice level; while the restaurant’s dishes are milder than other places, they still offer a satisfying heat suitable for those sensitive to spiciness. The portion sizes could be slightly larger to better match the typical serving sizes at similar Indian restaurants in the area, especially considering the price point. The service staff is attentive; they check on your table frequently and ensure a pleasant dining experience. However, adding a selection of imported Indian beers, such as Kingfisher or Taj Mahal, could enhance the authenticity and provide more beverage options for customers. The restaurant features a casual ambiance with a quiet atmosphere, spacious tables, and comfortable seating. I plan to continue supporting this establishment as one of the most authentic local Indian restaurants in Pacifica.

Thrilled to finally have an Indian restaurant in Pacifica at last. Having lived in the East Bay, I had modest expectations, but this place impressed.

Authentic flavors: Choley Bhature was deeply flavorful and true to its Punjabi roots, with a noticeable mustard oil aroma that felt authentic.
Family vibes: It feels like a small, family-run spot with warm hospitality.
Also I should mention that the food is reasonably priced. Excited to try more menu items and hope they keep up the high quality. I definitely encourage patronage to this place — it’s a great addition to Pacifica for reliable, comforting North Indian classics.

The workers were so friendly, and we really enjoyed our food tonight! We especially liked the karahi paneer (which we’ve never tried anywhere else before), aloo gobi, and mango lassi! We asked for medium spice but it didn’t seem very spicy, so don’t be afraid to up your spice level.

Was eager to try our new Indian restaurant so picked up samosas for starters. Pastry was crispy and jam packed with potatoes, peas, and spices. Yummy chutney. All so delicious. Truly the best samosas we’ve had in years. Will return for sure.

Excellent food! We ordered the paneer tikka which was so delicious! The Gobi kulcha was also very well made. The malai kofta was on the sweeter side.
The price per dish is higher and not reflective of the quality. The entire restaurant smelled of intense spices which got on our clothes.
Overall, for takeout the food is great.

My new favorite Indian restaurant in the entire Bay. The veg korma is packed with so many different veggies and insanly flavorful curry. The staff is so friendly. I’m very glad this place opened up here and I hope they get as much business as they deserve

Excellent food and friendly service. We enjoyed our sop here for lunch on our road trip to Banff and Jasper.

The food was authentic and delicious. We ordered Samosas (fried puffs stuffed with spiced potatoes and peas) Dal Fry (lentils) with Garlic Naan (bread), Chole (garbanzo), and Salted Lassi (yogurt drink). The prices were very reasonable too.

A family run place, and you feel the warmth and welcome, and the food is served with kindness and a smile. Thank you Panj-aab, we’ll be back next time!!

I was super excited when I I heard we finally had an Indian restaurant in Pacifica. Everything was great! Portions were generous with the meat, the flavors were perfect, and everything tasted fresh and balanced.

I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala (of course), Rogan Josh, and Saag Paneer.

If they keep it up, they’ll stick around here in Pacifica for a long time.

I’m honestly kind of shocked at all of the 5 star reviews as both of the times my husband and I have tried this restaurant have been disappointing. The basmati rice was completely flavorless and the chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo (which they describe as firey and tangy) had barely any flavor to them at all. And the chicken pieces were dry and chewy and the curries themselves were watery. The samosas we ordered at this most recent visit had not even been cooked all the way through with the pastry on the inside being raw and were fairly bland in taste themselves, although the dipping sauces they come with were tasty! Overall, this was some of the most flavorless Indian food I have ever had and I really wanted to like this place. The people who work there are so friendly and and place itself looks nice, so I’m very hopeful that they’ll dial in the flavor someday so I can update this review!

FINALLY! Amazingly delicious Indian food on the coast. This place is better than my Bay Area Peninsula, SF & Berkeley faves. All of Panj-Aab’s chicken and lamb dishes I’ve tried are so succulent, well marinated & flavored. Same goes for their paneer dishes, samosas and aloo kulcha bread. Can’t wait to try the entire menu! Cooks are top notch, and staff are all so kind. I’ve dined in, and also ordered food for familia pot lucks. The Malai Chicken Tikka & Karahi Paneer dishes were huge hits with our foodie familia. Try the aloo kulcha bread too. It’s the best I’ve had in the Bay, and my North & South Indian friends say the food here is the authentic taste of home. Also, the prices are more affordable, and portions are more generous than other Bay Area establishments that leave me wanting.
