Today I got a dozen bagels. They were out of half the bagels I ordered. I didn’t know what they had available, so I said I would take what they had. Instead of a dozen savory bagels, I got essentially a dozen sweet bagels. That didn’t really work for the picnic that the bagels were for making sandwiches on. Not only that, there were two everything bagels in with the cinnamon crunch and chocolate chip, but they weren’t separately wrapped. That meant all the bagels tasted like my least favorite flavor: onion/garlic/cinnamonsugar. Yuck. I also ordered the bagels sliced, and only four of them were, which meant making sandwiches on torn apart bagels. I ended up getting 12 bagels instead of the baker’s dozen I had paid for, but that was on me for not checking better.

I am a regular here at this Panera Bread and it is always clean, the staff is always so amazing, the food is fresh and always Panera perfect. Located in Downtown Boise, it is a perfect all day meal option or a place I often use for a quick meeting that has a few nooks that offer a quiet place mid-day for a coffee and a pastry.

Came to this location for coffee several times a week for the last 6 months as it’s right next to our gym. Sometimes, inexplicably, the coffee is full of grounds. Like probably a whole tablespoon in the bottom of the cup. Recently it’s been almost every time. We told the staff about it on last visit. This morning again the light roast was full of grounds. When we told the same staff again they seemed upset and one even told us that she had tried it and it was fine? When it clearly wasn’t? I know we come in right at opening but we just get drip coffee. We don’t want to make extra work for anyone we just want to have a cup of coffee and enjoy each others company for a few minutes before the day starts. I have no interest in confrontation or hurting anyone’s feelings, I just don’t want a literal mouth full of grounds at 7 AM and I think that’s pretty reasonable. This morning was really uncomfortable and I don’t think we’ll be back. It’s a shame.

What is it with closing at 8PM on Friday and Saturday nights?? Food is over priced for what you get and mediocre. The Toasted Baguette subs have shockingly little meat or toppings in them. Every time I go in for dark roast coffee they are out of it Meh. But the people are very nice.

Food is good but I’m now convinced that the serving size is down while the price is up. I can get just as good of food elsewhere for $5/couple less. Plus their rewards program is lame. You have to go there quite frequently to get any benefits. Sorry Panera, you’re now getting less rather than more of my business.
