I’m a big Panera fan but this location has issues with staff and food quality. I have never had an order come out by the time it was promised, even when I order 30+ minutes before even leaving to pick it up because I know how slow they are. I assumed it was because I always came around lunch, but recently I keep having poor experiences even outside of peak hours. Earlier this week I went in to place an order around 7:40am. No one was in there. Two girls at the counter. I say hello when I walk in and they turned their backs to me to continue talking, so I use the kiosk. When I’m leaving another employee is so deep in her conversation shes having with a coworker as she walks into the dining area, she bumped straight into me. I kept trying to move out of her way and said “oh, excuse me” but she was completely unaware that a customer was there, and I spilled my coffee. Today I ordered avocado toast for pickup. Showed up at the promised time and it was not ready. Waited 15 minutes and had to leave for work as I was late at that point. I tried to flag down any team member to ask when it would be ready or if I can cancel it, and they all avoided eye contact and ignored me. So I left. It really seems the staff does not have any care for customer experience. I feel unwelcomed and like the staff can care less if I get my food. I have also had several instances here where I was served a salad with rotten ingredients, and the quality of their fresh ingredients seems poor. I understand things go bad, but someone should have noticed a moldy tomato or black, slimy lettuce sitting on top of a salad they’re serving. All goes back to the staff not caring, and likely, poor management. I worked in food service, mainly cafes, for years and know this would not fly anywhere else. I know it is a hard job, but you are not doing that job if the customer is not getting what they pay for, and also if you are not providing ANY customer service. I order through an app or kiosk, and staff will not even say hello or provide help when there is an issue. It seems they do not want to interact with a customer at all.
The sandwiches were awful. I ordered a Caprese on a baguette. The baguette was burned! Not toasted— burnt. There were a few small pieces of stringy dried out tomato and some rubbery mozzarella & a few limp pieces of arugula. There was almost nothing on the burnt bread— but what little was there— was just slopped on.
The chicken chipotle avo melt was just a mess.Everything just thrown on & leaking off.
I will not waste another dollar at Panera. You would think for these prices their sandwiches would actually have the items advertised in it, the bread would be edible & they wouldn’t look like slop on burnt bread.
P.S. This is the third consecutive time I’ve received garbage sandwiches from Panera— so this must be their new business model.

Pick 2. Strawberry Walnut side salad ( Delicious) tuna half a sandwich wth toasted bread.
Sadly didn’t receive my tuna half a sandwich toasted.
Instead I got a Mediterranean half a sandwich veggie w/ blue cheese. Which was worse because I’m lactose intolerant.
This was supposed to be my lunch @ work and sadly no half a sandwich for me. I did call and was granted a refund by Tia the manager and a makeover, which I thought was Excellent. Today midmorning 07/3/25 I went to get my Refund and my makeover half a sandwich. Sadly got the wrong refund amount $. And my half a sandwich didn’t have tomatos which I love tomatoes.
Got the wrong bread. wasn’t even toasted. Too many mistakes in the kitchen. If I were you I would check my order before leaving. That’s all I’m saying. Oak Park location
