This is probably the worst Panera location in the area, and I’ve been there a few times and consistently had a below average experience. First off, this location got a full renovation a few years back, and even with the renovation, it’s still really dirty and unkept like it was before the renovation. Similarly unkept is the coffee bar and tea dispenser. One time I went in, the coffee was not hot and was not refilled, so I wasn’t able to get a full cup. I’m not sure if the coffee bar was closed or not, but I saw nothing indicating that the coffee wasn’t being refilled. I went in there another time and ordered a sweet tea, however, the unsweetened tea dispenser only partly worked and it took forever to fill the cup. There are better Panera locations around, please do not go to this one.

I ordered bistro French onion soup and it was served without the cheese. Then, my asian sesame chicken was served without chicken? Anyway, the cashier was nice so I didn’t make a big deal. The cook has to be more vigilant next time.

This review is for the Elgin, IL location (just north of 90). While I have been coming here for years, I am constantly at a loss for words for the service, the kindness and the pure sense of care from the staff. It never feels like “just a job” or a burden. Today (5.19.2025), I had the pleasure and joy to work with whom I assume was the shift manager. She was a bright sun in my day of less-than-sunny. She treated me not like a customer, but as a human and I don’t think I can think of any other business in my recent memory that has done the same.

Thank you, so much. So much. You made a day that was slipping out from underneath me and pulled me up into joy. Thank you. Unbelievably.

I am beyond proud to call this Panera, MY Panera. And it always will be.

Stoped on way home to Wisconsin from Ohare. My mistake was I ordered from the wrong Panera. I was welcomed with open arms. We were starved ! The manager knew I would never make it to the correct store. She called them to cancel and took care of me as if I was royalty. The other workers were so kind and went out of their way to do what they could to help. This was 10 minutes until close. They weren’t upset that they had yet another duty. What a wonderful caring location. Thank you again for your assistance!

Our seniors from our community of Carillon have been ordering from this Panera since they opened. So be it we ordered 2 bagel pack for a long time. Never asked for something, we got the Bagels and cream cheese we for a few plates knifes, and napkins. The last few months the morning people that run that store have been rude and I was told they didn’t need our business. I laughed at the guy and the manager said even Giants fall, they didn’t give me anything knifes, napkins, plates I said if we ate here they have to clean plates, area. We ask for the Bagels to be sliced, they cut the Bagels so bad I took pictures, not like they were busy on a Sunday morning with no other orders so that guy could care less about what he was doing because we couldn’t even toast the Bagels they were cut in quarters. The guy told me to take my business elsewhere because he didn’t want to here my complaint how they were cut, and they short my order last time. They treat seniors badly at this store. Heads up go elsewhere

The visit was amazing my first time coming! We ordered and it took a bit longer then we expected, not a big deal. We asked the lady’s at the front desk to double check if they were still making the food, they said yes. Like 5 mins later a cashier came up and gave us 2 free pastries from the kitchen and said “sorry for the wait”, and then about 10 ish mins later the manger came out saying “oh I’m so sorry about the wait, there is a new chef, and they accidentally messed up something in the order!” The service was amazing! Definitely coming here again!!!

This used to be my go-to location when the Carpentersville store failed me with poor food quality. I typically only order soup, there’s not too many ways you can screw that up, so the food has been decent at this location. The major issue here is that they are so disorganized. Nobody seems to know what anyone else is doing, and therefore customers have to go to three different counters to get all of the things on their order. I can’t imagine what the online ordering experience look like. Best location in the area so far is still South Elgin. Looks like I’ll be going there more often.

Not all Paneras are the same. Went to one in Boise and the register person didn’t seem to know what was included with the kids meal. Said a drink was included, but it was an additional charge. I gave my phone number and asked if I had any rewards or deals. He said no ,but I did have a $5 off which I used when I went back in Illinois.
Food is always good.

Panera is always a great visit. The staff is always nice but me and my boyfriend usually have a girl named Bryn, I think, who is so sweet and great to talk to. She remembers us when we come in, mainly him, and it makes the experience better.
Pricing here is great. I feel like its extremely fair for how much and how good the food is. This visit I tried the grilles mac and cheese sandwhich with broccoli cheddar soup (a classic) and bread. It was absolutely delicious.
Never had an issue with inside not being clean. It always looks nice and its a super cozy place to eat. Could stay here for hours infront of the fireplace with some hot soup and a book.
Wait times arent long. Its pretty quick for how much food we usually get, and everything is fresh and hot when we receive it. The lemonades are amazing as well and I love just sipping random mixtures of that while waiting for my food.
Overall its a great place and I never have anything to complain about.
