They close at 3:00. We went in at about 2:45 and the staff seemed kind of upset that we wanted to order. They told us they were out of what we wanted, but found some and made us a skimpy sandwich (that we didn’t see until we got home). More people came in after us, too. So sorry to inconvenience them, so we took it to go instead of eating there. Everyone there seemed unhappy. Food was good, though. But if you really want to eat there, check the operating hours and get there early.

I visit Panera Bread often during travels from Charlotte to Texas, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan and all the stayes in between. This location on Hilton Head island is just off the main thoroughfare on the northeast side of the island and only 2 miles from the resort where we stayed.

Got there before 3pm closing. We were ready to order quickly. Dude (manager?) kept telling us “we’re closing” 5 times interrupting our order. We said that’s enough, we understand. He started yelling at us, said we were “inconsiderate” for coming in before closing, and then trying to order “the whole place.” (We ordered 2 sandwiches). This Dude was angry/agitated/hostile, trying to intimidate us, even came out from behind the counter. He Said, “you got what you wanted.” I replied, “no, I wanted good service and I didn’t get that.” Whoever is in charge of this guy should get him counseling and at a minimum, give him a warning. All the other ladies there were nice and didn’t act like him. But they seemed like they were accustomed to his anger management problems, and unwilling to cross him. .
