The employee I spoke to wasn’t particularly understanding. They seemed disinterested and sighed repeatedly. They didn’t smile or give a warm greeting.
They mentioned the soup is made fresh in house with locally sourced ingredients due to the hospital location’s standards.. while I appreciate the commitment to quality for patients, I haven’t encountered this practice at other Panera bread locations. I’m also a bit skeptical about the “locally sourced” claim.
I did receive a refund, which I appreciate.
I hope Panera will investigate the ingredient sourcing and preparation procedure at tihs location to ensure quality and provide additional customer service training.
The two girls and one guy working at the time seemed more focused on chatting and laughing among themselves than helping customers. I stood waiting while they ignored me, and when I finally placed my order for two coffees, I had to repeat myself three times. They acted as if they didn’t understand me and showed no urgency or care.
One of the girls near the pastries refused to help me altogether and just walked off toward the kitchen, leaving the guy to handle everything. On top of that, the coffee was cold — clearly from the day before — and it tasted like nothing but water. I had to complain, which only added to my stress and disappointment.
I’ve always loved Panera, and this experience was truly disheartening. I will be calling corporate to report what happened. I sincerely hope they take steps to improve the service at this location, especially for people who are already going through tough moments at the hospital.
Staff for day and night shift is horrible. Employees barely acknowledge that you are there and could care less about friendliness towards customers. And appearance is also lacking at this location. An employee was cleaning up a mess on the floor and had a thong riding halfway up her back. I was disgusted.
Don’t go here and waste your hard earned money unless you are absolutely desperate for something to eat. Makes McDonald’s seem like a luxury restaurant in comparison.
