I love their hot drinks. They offer reasonably priced food items. This location is fairly big and has nearby shopping center. Plenty of parking space. Service was good also.

This Panera Bread fast casual restaurant is typical of the current situation with Panera Bread restaurants as an entity throughout the US. The quality of their sandwiches, soups and salads has gone down considerably over the years. I remember when Panera was a bakery that HAPPENED TO SELL SANDWICHES AND COFFEE. All the baking was done on premises, fresh every morning. They had a huge selections of breads, bagels, and pastries. Not anymore… All the baking will be happening in centralized commisaries. I visited this Panera Bread location today, and ordered a chicken pesto sandwich on ciabatta bread. This sandwich is advertised as a “dipper” with a side of sauce. First, now all sandwiches are half sandwiches… You would have to buy two halves to make a complete sandwich. I also got a soup which was the seasonal flavor, and a drink (which was free because I subscribed to the Panera “Sip Club” for a fee). You can see a screenshot of my order with the attached photos. The order was fulfilled quickly and I got my drink almost immediately, which was nice. The soup was good but a tad sweet. But the half chicken pesto sandwich with “dipping sauce” was literally four pieces of smoked chicken meat, maybe a half a teaspoon of pesto… And the dipping sauce? A scant 1/4 cup of Panera Brad’s own tomato soup! The dipping sauce was not even a sauce! The quality of the ingredients, the smallish portions and the high price deserves the stars I adjudicated. Panera Bread has some serious work to do to convince me that the driver is not profit over quality

Fast counter service. Food prep is also speedy. Food Quality is great. Workers are friendly and professional. All the coffee you can drink. Can always find a chair. Parking is plentiful.

We’ve visited this Panera location many times and like the relatively quick service, unlimited tea/coffee, lunch selections, and wide variety of baked goods in the morning (since they can sell out). It is a great place for a small meeting, or to sit and talk with people who matter to you. Today, they accidentally forgot the pickle, then apologized and gave us several. Excellent service.

The staff are friendly enough and helpful, but the main issue I have at this location in particular is that it is never clear which or how many registers are open, and you can’teasily see the other when you’re standing at one. I could be waiting patiently at one, and nobody tells me to go to the next register for service…until another customer walks by and orders ahead of me because, gee, that register was open, but who knew? One time I waited, then walked to the next register to see if someone would help me there, and then someone helps another customer at the register I was just at! I am trying to be respectful of employees and let them take care of whatever work they need to do, and I make eye contact with them, but is it not clear that I’m waiting to be helped?

Today was a heavy errand day. Lots if deadlines and family duties to complete. It is one of those days where when you get “above and beyond” service, it makes your day so much easier. Unfortunately, this Panera at Federal Plaza in Rockville, MD failed today. They “nickel & dimed” me in a way I was not used to. I am a sips club member so I get unlimited drinks as I work. But today they made it seemed like something was wrong when i requested a refill. I ordered a pick two meal and it just seems like the servings are shrinking beyond recognition. I am considering changing my “work away from home” cafe spot now. I don’t think the people that served me here were evil, just not that interested in going above and beyond.

Nice menu with lots of seasonal changes, good coffee and a microwave to make your coffee hotter which is how I like it. Friendly staff willing to make ordering changes such as toasting bread or adding / deleting an item. Love the fireplace in the winter. Soups are delicious. I only wish they would offer their delicious souffles for lunch.

To make up for the loss of those two items, the chocolate chip cookies are amazing and a crowd pleaser!
