I recently visited Benares Indian Restaurant in downtown and had a great experience. I had the “ vegetarian dishes” like Kadai Paneer, Aloo Papdi Chaat and Garlic Naan and they were absolutely delicious—full of flavor and very satisfying. The chaat was especially amazing.
My friends tried some “non-veg dishes” and they really enjoyed their food as well. Overall, the food, flavors and experience were great. Definitely a place I’d come back to again! The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive and welcoming.

The food, atmosphere and service are phenomenal! We travelled to Toronto just to come here and were so glad we made the journey, this is a hidden gem and I fell in love with the decor. The staff were so attentive and friendly and really made our meal so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I loved my meal here. A quiet and cozy environment with beautiful food and kind service. Lovely music too. Spinach and Cheese naan was especially good (and saag paneer) and I loved the Bombay Pilsner. Would certainly return. Good value as well. Wonderful experience all the way around.

The interior and atmosphere is very beautiful too. We found the staff to be very welcoming and warm – we were on date night (gay couple). We’d love to go back!

About 10 min walk from union station, this place is hidden in basement setting.
Considering Benaras (in India) has food full of bursting flavours, North Indian food was short of that bursting flavour expectation. Medium spicy tasted like extremely mild.

This hidden gem of restaurant (literally) has an amazing, relaxing ambiance, from the moment I walked in, the music, interior decoration, delicious food, and on-point serving staff. Coming from the hospitality industry, I am quite particular about the quality of serving staff… and Benares definitely receives 5 golden stars ALL around! Thank you for an amazing experience!!!
