I only knocked off one star because something always happens at this location. Like the table we chose, regardless where we sit, is dirty. Or it’s extremely hot or super cold. The temperature is never appropriate regardless of the weather. The food is always great, and the staff is okay. We have never had an issue with the staff but they’re not great either. We usually come here after shopping and have our little family meetings here, which is great. We love coming here but please work on keeping the restaurant a little cleaner and weather appropriate.

I am currently at your Bay Plaza location where I am paying for below subpar food and service. The cleanliness of the seating area calls into question the cleanliness of the food station and back area as it is riddled with dirty tables, food on the floor and even beverages clearly spilled all over a sector on the chairs and table. When we requested a table please be cleaned so we may sit the manager handed us a wipe to clean it ourselves but not before he squeezed out the liquid from it. When I received my sandwich the chicken was cold and rubbery as if it had been reheated repeatedly then left out. When I requested another sandwich please be made, I was given one where it was burned to the point where even the avocado inside was brown and crisp in addition to the bread making noise when touched with the plate. When I asked for the regional contact information the manager offered to throw my sandwich out. Additionally, the cheddar broccoli soup was stale.
If needed, I have pictures and video for reference. The only positive experience was how courteous the cashier/server with the long braids and dotted tattoos was. The service here is one of the examples of why service in the Bronx has a bad rep.

The food and drinks were delicious! I ordered Panera Bread via pickup and the customer service was very friendly. The atmosphere was very presentable, families were present this early morning, and I had a great time being comfortable in this place. The drinks are organic, made with natural ingredients, and the cookies and pastries were made with delicious love and care. I would go back each morning for another bite!

Panera Bay Plaza is giving… cute café that does not feel like the Bronx
To my surprise Panera has brought back the cranberry orange flavored muffin which is now sold by the slice. This is my absolute favorite item to buy at Panera’s. Customers voiced their opinion on X (Twitter) when it was taken off the menu. Thankfully the powers that be listened and put it back on the menu!!!
The cranberry orange slice was fresh, and tasted amazing, favorite item on the menu!
The staff are super friendly, the restaurant is very clean, loved the esthetics, the atmosphere was calm, and quiet at lunch time.
Pro tip: Mobile order like your life depends on it. And guard your table—Bay Plaza is prime territory.
Will I be back? Yes. But next time, I’m ordering extras

I had lunch earlier with a friend, and the manager, Chrystal Deans, truly exceeded our expectations. She recommended the new Chicken Roma sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. I’m usually a creature of habit, but her enthusiasm convinced me to try it—and I was not disappointed! The staff were friendly, and the service was quick and efficient. Chrystal even checked in with us at the table to see if we needed anything else and to hear my thoughts on her recommendation. I will absolutely be returning, thanks to Chrystal—she is the epitome of excellent customer service.

100% the worst Panera bread experience you could be subjected to. Especially after being to better establishments. We ordered the French onion soup in a bread bowl, and there was literally no broth. You’d expect the bread to soak it up, except the bread on the bottom was dry. When we took it back to the counter, the employee said (with a straight face) we should’ve ordered the regular bowl, and the bread bowl with it on the side, as if that’s a normal thing to do.
I settled and went back to our table and tried to continue chewing our soup. Two bites in was absolutely enough for me, and I went back and asked for at least more broth for the bowls, as we were CHEWING OUR SOUP. The excuse this time was that they haven’t sold the soup all day so it has gotten thick. I’m writing this at 1:03pm. We received out order at 12:39. They’ve been open since 7, and they close at 9pm.
Also, the lemonades are disgusting. The pomegranate flavor especially tastes like fabuloso.
All around has declined since my last visit & though I’m a local, I’m never coming back here.

Service is bad and food arrived later than promised. Food had missing ingredients, like hummus on my Mediterranean veggie sandwich. Not even cut properly, veggies all over the place. Disappointed and will not order at this store again.

Pretty great quality in this Panera. The parking outside is small but there are more spaces in and around the mall. It’s not actually attached to the mall itself so it makes navigating it simpler. Service was really good and the quality was surprising. This place has been here for years and I’m happy to see that at least the quality hasn’t gone down. Seating can be hectic if you come at the wrong time, so be aware
