The Guide
Visited Panera Bread in Pembroke, MA on Sunday. Upon arrival, we found no staff at the register. Several employees noticed us but avoided eye contact and continued their tasks. After waiting for about 15 minutes, we opted to use the automated ordering system, which was user-friendly and included options for customizing orders with allergy information. Our order was ready in 8 minutes, and the sandwiches met our expectations. While the experience was satisfactory, it lacked customer service. This location is recommended for drive-through or online orders, but not for walk-ins.

Stopped in for breakfast. The sandwich was delicious and I didn’t see them use a microwave like most fast food places do.

I regularly rotate through a half dozen Panera restaurants around the south shore for lunch and since they all seem to be individually managed, the quality, cleanliness and service can be varied.

This Pembroke location is far and away the best of the lot. The tables are cleaned quickly, food quality is consistently high and the people who work there are just a pleasure. But also efficient.

Credit where credit is due.

Workers very friendly and seemed they enjoyed working there. The furniture and rug seem a little worn out. Could use a breath of fresh air.

The food at any Panera is still very good. Always fresh made to order, and don’t forget the baguette. This location has a drive through order and pickup so you know it’s going to be slow. Rating and service get a 4 star not because of the people (they are still amazing) but because of the way mobile is handled. When you order with mobile you get a time to be at the drive through. We were one minute late and got to the speaker and we’re told it was nowhere near ready, sit in the parking lot until you get an email it’s ready. While sitting there we got an email that our order was still being worked on and not ready yet. An email that would have been best sent BEFORE our arrival time and not 8 minutes after. Corporate needs to address using email and switch to texting which is much faster.

The atmosphere and service was fine, but this was the lowest quality food I have ever paid for. My grilled cheese ended up being two Kraft Singles on uncooked white bread.

Don’t show off all this fancy bread and cheese at the counter if you’re not going to use it.

I want my $10 back

I’m taking a break from the Pembroke Panera. The last few sandwiches I’ve ordered have been a mess. Today I went thru the drive thru and ordered a sandwich. Drive home to eat. I was so angry when I opened my sandwich I immediately wrapped it back up and drove all the way back to the store for a refund. The manager was beyond kind and apologetic. He did and said all the right things. Which I appreciate. But I won’t be back. Whoever is making sandwiches there needs to do a better job. Wish I took a pic.

We stopped at this Panera on our way to Boston and had the best Panera server ever. Marybeth was just amazing! Super attentive, generous and gave us plenty of tips for our upcoming trip. Thanks Marybeth, you are great!

What happened to “clean” food???
I am a faithful Panera customer despite the high cost for the amt of product because I love a particular sandwich, fontega chicken with broccoli cheddar soup, and have been ordering it for over 20 years. Much to my surprise when I bit into my sandwich today, it was soaked with a dark orange Spicy overly Smokey terrible tasting sauce.( the atomic taste is still in my mouth an hr later) I promptly brought the sandwich back and was told that they no longer carry aïoli mayonnaise and will be using that orange cheap stuff from now on. CONSUMER BEWARE nowhere on their menu did they indicate any change in my sandwich. And they have no mayo So now there is nothing on my chicken sandwich and it’s too dry. I guess Panera doesn’t care and just lost me as their faithful customer. I will not be back. The sales person could not have been nicer. He was a really sweet, kind, and looked a little embarrassed when he saw my orange soaked sandwich. Yikes!
