Why would ANY restaurant serve chicken so tough that you need a SHARP kitchen knife to cut it? Not a butter knife. Not even close. I’m talking about real effort just to slice through “orange chicken.” And why would I even need a knife for orange chicken? Because it was so tough to bite into that I literally had to cut those wooden pieces into smaller chunks just to be able to eat them.

I walked in thinking I had found a hidden gem. I was hungry and excited. The plate came out looking amazing and smelling delicious.

Then I took my first bite.

To my surprise… I’ve found softer wood at Home Depot.

Out of about 15 pieces, only TWO were soft and edible. TWO. The rest were dry, tough, and chewy — more like orange-glazed lumber than chicken.

The service wasn’t very friendly either, which didn’t help.

The only positive thing? If you want to feel like you’ve stepped into China, this is the place. The cooks and waitresses are genuinely Chinese, and the music adds to the atmosphere. Authentic vibe? Yes. Tender chicken? Absolutely not.

I don’t gamble with my appetite, so I won’t be coming back. If you decide to visit, I strongly recommend ordering something else… unless you’re feeling lucky and want to try your chances with orange wooden chicken.

Delicious and flavorful. I took a picture with the egg drop soup with my hand for reference of size and main dish was shrimp wonton noodle soup

We were there in Christmas Day as a family tradition and it was great! Food was delicious. They were extremely busy but the employees worked hard to make sure we had plenty of drinks and appetizers. I counted 15+ to go orders while we were there and our food took maybe 15 minutes to come out. Super fresh and a great experience. The wings were amazing too!

Wow, what a culinary delight! Panda Imperial truly exceeded my expectations. The food was exceptional – fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Every dish was a masterpiece, and the portions were generous. But what really impressed me was the spotless cleanliness of the restrooms! It’s clear that this restaurant prioritizes quality and hygiene. The combination of delicious food and a clean environment makes Panda Imperial a must-visit destination. Kudos to the chef, staff, and management for setting a high standard. I can’t wait to come back and indulge in more of their culinary delights

Best salt & pepper wings in San Diego. I bring these to parties and they’re always a hit. Other dishes I’ve tried are great, too. Excellent hidden gem that’s been serving Chula Vista for decades.

This is the cleanest Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to! The workers are so incredibly nice and kind. Our server was very attentive and checked-in on us several times for water and more. The food portions are big and the prices are decent too. The flavor is great! Those who said this place doesn’t serve flavorful food are way over their head. They couldn’t be more wrong! You have to try this food for yourself and see what I am talking about, this place serves yummy Chinese food! The salt and pepper chicken wings are huge and DELICIOUS! The house noodles are a MUST! I always order these two things and get a complimentary cup of fried rice with the order. There are always left overs. Always! There’s a huge parking lot right next to the restaurant so you will never struggle. Overall, great food and great customer service!

Walked in to pick up my take out order. I paid returned my signed receipt and I always tip but not when I pick up my food and I am out within 2 minutes and don’t receive service . I put $0.00 for tip and I return my receipt and the waitress or hostess says “thanks for the no tip” with a big smile on her face. Never has that happened to me here or anywhere I get take out. and I’ve been eating here for about 10-12 years. If there was a better Chinese restaurant around here for what I like I wouldn’t be back because

Well it was abit pricey, 155.00 to be exact. I must say that the war wonton soup had no flavor, salt and pepper wings, beef and broccoli were good . House noodles, rice were ok. Im sorry but for the price I did expect tastier food.

The food is really good and its cooked to perfection in my opinion. Its not super greasy and everything is made fresh nothing sitting under a light or on a warmer. Its a little pricey but its all worth it for really good well-seasoned food.
