For us, it is the best Chinese style food you can get in the South East Mississippi area. The food is fresh and very close to the various styles you can find in Southern China (think Canton style as an example). If you want it made hotter spice wise (ask when you order it but be careful) they can increase (or decrease) the spice level. If you like spicy style, try the Szechuan Bean Curd.
Having worked in and been to China many times, I really enjoy the freshness and taste of the food here at Panda. Most Chinese restaurants in the US have greatly adapt the food to the local palate (sadly). What was great for me that the food at Panda was much closer to the food tastes you will find in mainland China or Hong Kong.
While you can eat at the restaurant, the food is nearly all designed for people to take home or to their work location. The portion size is perfect. If I order the large size of an entrée, I can generally get at least two meals from it. Meals will come with rice generally.
Note: the size of the menu is large. I would suggest you read it prior to going to the counter to order as with over a 100 choices, you need to time to read through it.
Things that I purchase often are the egg rolls or the spring rolls as a starter. Then I get a small order of fried rice with shrimp or chicken. The entrée is generally a beef or shrimp item (try the beef with broccoli!). The Lo Mein is very good. If you are a Vegetarian, this is a great dish for you. Tell the counter person to to add more veggies rather than a meat item (no chicken, shrimp, or meat). You will clearly enjoy it.
I have never tried any of the purely US styled foods (western style chicken wings or things like that) as it would be best to go to a place that is specific to that style of food but I understand why they sell it.
I hope you like the place. We do.
The building, inside and out, is in really bad condition. After seeing it I regretted I’d already ordered and paid. The ceiling has water damage basically all over. The air vents are rusted and corroded probably from all the water damage. The restroom was out of order. There were supply boxes piled up along the whole left side of the sitting area. Why has the Dept of Health not shut them down?
