I had an outstanding experience at Pancheros on Edgewood in Cedar Rapids! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The service was fast and efficient, but never rushed. Everyone behind the counter worked like a well-oiled team, and they made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it.
What really stood out was how the team never stopped working. As soon as the customer flow slowed down, they immediately shifted gears—cleaning the drink station, checking and tidying the bathrooms, and even offering to take our trash for us. They weren’t just standing around—they were taking initiative and keeping the whole place spotless. They truly put the service in customer service.
On top of that, every guest who walked in or out was greeted with a smile and a friendly word. That kind of consistency in hospitality is rare and definitely worth recognizing.
The food, as always, was fresh and delicious—exactly what I’ve come to expect from Pancheros. The ingredients were well-prepared, and my burrito was perfectly rolled (a small detail that makes a big difference!). The dining area was clean, comfortable, and clearly well taken care of.
Kudos to the team at this location—they went above and beyond to make my visit a positive one. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the Cedar Rapids area looking for quality food and top-notch service.

my burrito arrived crumbling. the tortilla was fine but it was so crumbly and fell off in pieces near the end and i have never seen this before when i usually go inside. i’m not sure why this has happened, and the contents inside are fine, but the tortilla itself seems to be slightly burnt and again, be crumbling near the end which left me with a small pile of tortilla pieces which is very odd. usually, this place is amazing.

This burrito spot absolutely nailed it. The chicken was incredibly flavorful — juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Every bite had that fresh-off-the-grill taste, and you can tell they don’t skimp on quality. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and everything was wrapped up just right. If you’re craving a seriously tasty chicken burrito, this place delivers. Definitely coming back.

Ordered food to go, a burrito and a bowl. Didn’t get what was ordered. The burrito was MISSING black beans, chicken, veggies, reg hot tomatillo and jalapeños from what was ordered. It literally only contained rice and guacamole. That’s it. The burrito bowl was to have rice, beans, guacamole, veggies, and pico. It was missing the beans and the veggies. Very disappointing that this location would serve this when what was ordered was missing so many things.

Every time I come back the quality gets worse and worse. Last night I ordered online but my order still wasn’t ready when I got there so they made the food in front of me. No problem with that, just means in theory my food should be more fresh that way. IN THEORY. In practice every single ingredient was dry. How long were the ingredients sitting in those hot wells?! At least add some water and stir them! I would’ve walked out if I hadn’t already paid online because NOTHING passed the eye test, I knew this was gonna be a bad burrito. “Bad” is an understatement. Never in my life have I ever had such a dry burrito, and I got sour cream and queso. The burrito was so cold, I thought there’s no way the meat was held at a safe temperature. I only ate half of it and that was still enough to give me food poisoning. Luckily I got steak, I’d probably be fighting for my life right now if I got chicken. Currently debating on going to the hospital, blowing up from both ends, I will never return. Eat at your own risk, safe food handling is NOT practiced here.

I’ve been to most of the Pancheros around here numerous times and they all have good and bad days. This location has really been struggling the last few years though. First of all none of them compare to the Original Pancheros in Iowa City (before it became a franchise) but that’s to be expected. This location however, seems to struggle with labor a lot more than the others. They are constantly either way understaffed or training multiple people at once. And the employees constantly look stressed and like they just don’t care…and it reflects in the food they make. There is no consistency and asking for any kind of customization is hit & miss, at best. Today the restaurant was also dirty. Granted it’s late on a Saturday…but it’s still gross. When my order is made properly it’s pretty good. When it’s not it makes me wonder why I am surprised. I ordered 2 Steak Tacos, a Cheese Quesadilla & a Chicken Quesadilla w/ sour cream today. Food was prepared ok and tasted as such. Everything was packaged to go even though we were dining in which was probably to cut down on dishes they would need to wash.

Beans i had to wait over 5 minutes for werent even cooked still. The meat was cut so small barely any put on and it didnt even have seasoning. Everytime I go in anymore the quality goes way down. I wont be going back to poncheros anymore because this isnt the only location ive had problems with. I was going for 2 people atleast once a week or more but no more until you either fix your employees or something. Even your reward program is junk.

Everything was fine with my service until I was checking out at the end. The first guy was sweet, but Cena was the opposite when I was paying. I went in with my friend, and we ordered chips and queso with corn on the side. My total was different than my friends, and I noticed I didn’t get my corn. I spoke up and she blamed it on me when she charged me incorrectly. She then blamed her coworker for lack of communication.

Food was just ok. The steak was very dry. The queso was super thick and not a normal consistency. The service was amazing though! The coworkers were busy with online orders and in store orders, but the line workers were on top of it and very easy to chat with. Now, onto the not so good stuff…the menu boards above the food were COATED in grease and dust and so we’re the duct vents and the wall behind/above the menu boards. I included photos to show.

I did pick up in the store and all I asked for was a bowl with a lid for my burrito. This location is notorious for not wrapping burritos correctly/it just being very messy. Because of this I’ve been getting a bowl and lid and eating my burrito with a fork. However the staff told me they would have to charge me for the bowl and lid because of “inventory”. If that’s true why not charge for napkins or the silverware. I found it odd because Chipotle would not do this.
