Dropped into Panang 5 Thai Restaurant in Edmond and had a fantastic dining experience — no photo tour this time, just came to enjoy the food, and wow, did it deliver!
Their daily lunch special is a standout — fresh, flavorful, and customizable, which really lets you craft your ideal Thai meal. I appreciated the balance of quality and value. The ingredients tasted vibrant and clean, and the presentation was simple but spot on.
I paired it with a cold Sapporo, and it really hit the spot . The service was quick, friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed — no frills, just solid food and a chill vibe.
Even though I didn’t shoot the location like I do for some of my reviews, I’d definitely return for another round — maybe next time with my camera in hand for a full visual capture.
✅ Great for casual lunch, fresh flavors, and quick service without sacrificing quality. A hidden gem for Edmond foodies who love Thai cuisine!

I love their massaman curry and their pad Thai, but their pineapple fried rice is super good when I’m in the mood for it. My wife’s really enjoys their Bangkok fried rice and pad see ew. Don’t sleep on their Thai tea either. This was the first place I ever tried it at and it’s my gold standard.
Brought everything at once, which is ok but the spring roll was not too warm but even then it did taste good. Could have eaten several of them. The chicken curry soup was hot (heat) and very tasty, used the juice on stir fried pork and was yummy. The fried rice needed some seasoning but I used the soup juice and it worked great. Speaking of the stir fried basil pork, it was good but some might think it was rather spicy. Water tasted yucky, almost like glass not rinsed enough.
Pay cash, otherwise they tack on 3% because they can charge you for what is an operating expense they can claim.
The servers gave us good service. I definitely will come back. The dishes are a good amount even though I ordered the small soup.
EDIT!!!:: I came back two days later and they ended up giving me a full refund except the tip, but I wanted them to keep the tip. That was super professional and kind because there is some places that will not refund even though you got sick. I really appreciate it and I do think that I will give them another try at some point.
They offer a great menu with plenty of options to choose from. One suggestion I have is to add some decor to the tables and consider hanging more art or pictures around the space to enhance the ambiance. Overall, I definitely plan to return the next time I’m in OKC!
Crab Rangoon, Chicken Stir Fry & Evil Jungle Curry (my husband hasn’t stopped talking about it).
