They show new ownership more focused on the food and I have to say it was amazing and delicious. Great selection as well.

I had a very good meal in the morning and it was so delicious and I would think that it would’ve been delicious for lunch and dinner.

Came for lunch and pastries with my aunt. She had the torta de pollo (chicken sandwich) and I had el desayuno ranchero. The waitresses were very kind and the service was good. The menu was mostly of images, with little description of plates. It was also mostly in Spanish. The food didn’t take too long to come, and you could tell that it was handmade by order. It was delicious; next time I will take a photo. The torta was gigantic; both meals were priced well based on portion.
I asked the waitress a few questions about the different pastries, and she explained them to me, each by name. As we checked out, our waitress gave us a few galletas (cookies) to try. They were delicious!!
I can’t express enough how much kind the staff was; it seriously left an impression. That alone will have us coming back. We are excited to try a few other things on the menu. 🙂 Gracias a ustedes!!

Incredibly slow. Food was bland. They tried to charge for tap water.

Update:
They seem to have a new owner, honestly, I go more for the food than the bakery, I wish they had more fresh bread. The place and prices are ok, their food is delicious.

I give one star just because is the only “Guatemalan” bakery I’ve seen in Monroe and because their service is not so bad. But, my experience was awful. I’m sure the bread is not made fresh ever day, which it wouldn’t be such a big deal if it didn’t tasted like cardboard when I tried it, and literally never in my life I had a COLD out of the fridge donut, horrible flavor, even the chocolate tasted nasty. Charging $2.50 for a non fresh made bread is ridiculous.

They have really bad customer service. The waitresses there overcharged and got really mad with us. My dad went again and they made fun of him saying, “Was it too much for you again?” The other employees started laughing and the manager or the owner was there and they were laughing as well. To say the least we are never going back. As for the food. It wasn’t the best quality when they served the food it didn’t look appetizing at all. I think Charlotte has better authentic Guatemalan food.

I did not go for the sweet bread. I went to have brunch. I had pupusas with coffee. Service was prompt, food was good, and I definitely be going back.

Easily one of the best, authentic Central American bakeries in the city of Monroe North Carolina. The restaurant/ bakery offers an exotic, daily special that really brings the chef’s talents to the fore. One of the specialies, the pupusas, are handmaid to order and feature a perfect blend of savory white cheese and hand rolled, crisp, tortilla like covering.
Traditional fruit drinks are served along with ‘ochata’ a sweetened rice milk high in carbs and taste.

Panaderia Quetzal is a traditional mom and pop eatery that comfortably seats upwards of fifty people, Panaderia Quetzal offers a full menu and regional fare from Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

The service is terrific and most orders are served within 10 to 15 minutes

I can not recommend this restaurant enough, especially for those looking for a spicy break from all too ubiquitous Mexican food.

A real hidden gem that’s great for the family or a working lunch.

The service is par none. You will instantly be greater with a warm smile and a batallian of home cooked aromas upon entry.

Super excited to have a Hispanic bread shop and store close by. It reminds me of living in Costa Rica. I loved loved loved the flan and the croissants and cookies Etc everyone should try it
