While staying at The Boulders we tried Palo Verde twice once for dinner and once for breakfast. My breakfast experience was ok. My latte and meal were good. The server was attentive and friendly. Dinner on the other hand was entirely different experience. Our food took forever to get, and they were not busy. The waiters seemed confused about were people’s food went once it came out. We saw a family of five be seated, the father got up to get their own menus after a while. They eventually walked out. It was to cold to sit outside for us, but they say the views are nice on the patio. When we return the Boulders we may eat breakfast at Palo Verde but will skip dinner there.

5 stars: I ordered a braised beef on mole sauce and it was amazing. Also our waiter Michael was for sure a hospitality pro. I will definitely come back any time I come back to Phoenix.

Sitting on the South golf course at the Boulders Resort in Carefree is Palo Verde. It’s a simply elegant yet casual restaurant serving up Southwestern inspired dishes for breakfast and dinner. Sit inside the rotunda style main room or put on the patio overlooking the course and pond.
While my daughter sticks with pancakes, my son and I can’t pass up a good order of biscuits and gravy. Unfortunately, we didn’t try much of the menu as dad joined in as well with the same order this time. We all enjoyed the cheddar jalapeno biscuits topped with chorizo gravy. Jack went with his go-to spicy Bloody Mary, and I sipped on a bourbon and peach schnapps iced tea.
It was a nice family breakfast in the desert, followed by visiting the pond below. The kids loved getting the turtles and koi to inch closer and closer. So take a beautiful Carefree drive through the Boulders Resort for a lovely meal.

I was blown away by how tasty the food was. And the service was excellent.
First of all the complementary bread includes their take on corn bread which was delicious
Started with the butternut squash soup that that was rich, velvety smooth and savory.
Their signature Chilean sea bass is flown in. It was fresh, moist and delicious.
Eat outside if you can. The view is serene and beautiful.

The best part about this place is the view. Its a nice restaurant with friendly staff and seating, indoors and out. Sitting outside, overlooking the course, the pond and the landscaping is beautiful.
The food on the other hand. We only experienced breakfast but what we had was mediocre at best. The food quite honestly reminds me of a café that microwaves prepackaged items. For the price, I felt no pride or love coming out of this kitchen. This place definitely needs to elevate the food experience or bring down the prices of what they serve.

Great atmosphere and staff. Seated right away. The coffee was hot and quite good. Our server recommended us some great dishes and we were not disappointed. Amazing experience! Don’t change a thing! 🙂

Was her for the Mother’s Day brunch. The location is very nice and the views were great. The setup of the buffet was good but a bit limiting considering the $110 per person. The desserts tasted like they were sitting out for awhile and I thought there could’ve been a larger selection of hot foods.
The entree that your ordered from your server was my favorite out of everything. The prime rib was cooked well and a good portion size. The staff were a bit young and undertrained in our opinion. A bit more guidance from their superiors in regards to clearing dirty dishes by the time you get back to the table and refilling water would’ve been nice.
All in all, it was a good brunch but there were a number of things that we think could have been improved on.

Awful. Avoid at all costs. The server was trying but there was not enough help. The bill was $600. Over priced, terrible food,”. They didn’t have the liquor for the drinks we wanted. They didn’t have the wine we wanted The atmosphere is like a cafeteria. I went into the wine cellar to find wine because they couldn’t do it. Really, really , really BAD.

This restaurant was an odd one for us… The decor is definitely outdated and they are selling paintings from a local artist I guess but it’s a little tacky. The restaurant was practically empty other than the people on the patio. They leave the patio doors open to the water and fountain and grass which brings in a ton of bugs… There were 2 servers and a manager serving. We definitely had a rocky start but the food speaks for itself! The manager made it very clear that our service was his top priority and he really stepped up in the nick of time. Food was some of the best we have had so far! Praises Palo Verde!

We had breakfast here almost every morning of our stay at The Boulders. The Sonoran Sunrise was our go-to favorite along with bottomless mimosas (try the white peach…it’s amazing) but I also tried the French Toast and the Huevos Tacos …the PV Benedict was enjoyed by my boyfriend too!
The view outside is very nice, although the birds were annoying and it gets hot!
