Palo Alto Creamery is located in the heart of Palo Alto at 566 Emerson St, right at the intersection of Hamilton Ave and Emerson St, making it very easy to find. It’s a spacious restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and consistently great service.

The food is delicious and served quickly, even during busy times. This place is especially well known for its burgers, which are flavorful and satisfying. I personally loved the chicken wings the spicy and sweet flavors were spot on and the fries were crispy and tasty.

It’s an excellent spot for friends and family gatherings, whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a relaxed dining experience. Street-side parking is available, which is convenient given the central location.

Overall, a reliable and enjoyable place for good food, fast service, and a comfortable dining experience. Highly recommended!

A local classic and must try if you love legacy local spots. Super authentic with all the decorations of a old school dinner. Corned beef was real corned beef and not some pre-made “stuff”. Pies were out of this world! Skip the trendy spots around here and get some real good food.

Palo Alto Creamery has such a warm and inviting vibe… clean, charming, and great for families. The staff was truly wonderful!! Friendly, upbeat, and very attentive, which really made our visit enjoyable.

The food wasn’t quite what we hoped for this time. The salad dressing was a bit too thick and the greens could have been fresher, and the burger was more on the average side. Still, with the great atmosphere and genuinely lovely service, the place has a lot going for it. I’d be happy to give it another try.

I’ve been coming here for decades and love the diner vibe and atmosphere. Prices have definitely gone up, but the burgers and milkshakes are well worth it. They also serve breakfast all-day!

I enjoyed a late breakfast here. My waiter told me that they are known for their milkshakes. I was recommended to have the dish shown, a hash brown pie. The flavors were nice. Service here is great and the atmosphere feels like an old time diner. Prices seemed a bit high even for the area for breakfast dishes. It is worth a visit if you are craving diner food in the downtown Palo Alto area.

Perhaps shakes and pastries are the only reasonably priced items on the menu.

Breakfast was over priced for small portions. The potato’s were cold and unevenly seasoned with clumps of salt. It was not clear on the menu whether or not the half soup and half sandwich came with fries. It does not. Small coffee cups, small water cups. Never once asked “how is everything?” And, was given a receipt for the meal before the meal arrived.

This is definitely a business that knows it can over charge and under deliver in this area. You’re definitely paying for the aesthetic/atmosphere.

I came in during a busy Sunday afternoon with a large group and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Armando was our server and too went above and beyond for us as well, evening splitting a complicated check to us . The food was outstanding, the pies to die for. Really impressed an thankful for the outstanding food and service

Retro diner-style restaurant with a friendly staff, and a great selection of ice cream and pies. Also a plus is that my water was never empty, a basic thing that other restaurants miss sometimes. Keep up the good work.

we went to Palo Alto Creamery because it is across the street from our hotel (Nobu). the food was very typical diner type food. good all-american diner type food. i had the scrambled eggs with ham mushrooms and avocado. it was very wholesome :). we all tried their milkshakes (my family tried the coffee and chocolate milkshakes but i think the best flavor was my sons banana with vanilla milkshakes (not on the menu; they just made one for him)

their service was excellent. they gave us a cup of coffee while we waited in line.

would i go back again ? Absolutely. it was a very good breakfast and the milkshakes, which everyone says is the best, are very good. try the banana vanilla milkshakes, i really thought that tasted really good

Despicable customer service! I have been a loyal customer here for several years, purchasing various different pies and enthusiastically telling family & friends to buy their pies and birthday cakes here. This past Saturday, I purchased two slices of cake for $20—only to find, upon opening the boxes at home, that the pieces were less than 1.5 inches wide (and 0.5 inches at its narrowest; dare I say, they were almost paper thin). I submitted polite feedback on their website about receiving less product than I paid for—no response. When I called the store a few days later, I was told that the baker had admitted he/she had mistakenly sliced the cake too thinly and to come to the store to pick up a gift certificate as a compensation. After work, I drove 30 minutes to the business only to be told that the owner had authorized a $4 return on a $20 spend for 2 slices of cake. LOL. Now, not only has the business shown it does not care about a longstanding customer’s satisfaction and feedback, but it also does not hold any regard for their time as well.

If this is how the business treats loyal customers, I will NEVER spend my hard-earned money here again and will encourage my community to do the same. Deeply disappointing from a small business I loved to support. Despite the diner concept, to charge $10 for a slice of cake (which, as a reminder, is mostly flour, sugar, water, and eggs) as a multi-generational business in the middle of the most expensive restaurant real estate in Silicon Valley and cheating the customer out of what they’ve paid for is shameful behavior. There are too many businesses that value their customers, who ALSO bake wonderful cakes and pies.

For starters, I recommend Lady M Cake Boutique, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Mademoiselle Colette, and Satura Cakes as wonderful alternatives. For a true diner experience, I recommend Bill’s Cafe, whose hospitality has always warmed my heart when I frequent the restaurant for its delicious french toast and omelettes…
