Service was also an issue. When our antipasto salad was dropped off, our server was engaged in a conversation with another guest across the partition and walked away before we could ask for more dressing for my mom’s salad.
I eventually had to get up and ask for dressing myself. She called out from the expo asking what we needed, when I said the dressing on the antipasto salad she said I don’t know what that is…. We got the dressing
We understand everyone can have an off day, but this was our second visit in about a year, and our first experience wasn’t great either. My mom was in town and wanted to try it, so we decided to give it another chance. It might just be better for pizza and wings not pasta.
What was most uncomfortable was overhearing management loudly and openly discussing an employee situation at the cash register. An older man in a green ball cap and glasses, along with an older female manager with her hair in a ponytail, were speaking in DETAIL about an employee possible termination and personal life. They were categorizing the employee as a “no call, no show.” This conversation continued openly, at full volume, in front of guests. It was loud enough that other tables could hear, make eye contact with us, and visibly react. At one point, it felt like the entire restaurant was being informed that this employee was about to be terminated. Regardless of what actually happened, discussing personnel matters this way publicly, at the register, and within earshot of customers was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. Managment should never do this period. Very sad to see the lack of respect of privacy for there employees.
The one positive note: the woman behind the expo who handed me lemons was very kind and helpful.
Overall, the food quality, service, and lack of professionalism made this a disappointing experience.
My only complaint is the house salad. Not especially large or good at the price. Feeds maybe 1.5 people each. I haven’t tried the fancier salads.
Having never picked up pizza here, the lady at the register said something to me that I did not quite hear/understand, so I told her I was there for pick up…that’s where the attitude began. Eye rolls, shoulder shrugs, general body-language attitude. She asked for the name so I told her my last name…more eye rolls, shoulder shrugs, and general attitude that I, a mere commoner, did not know the system was built around first names. So she asked me for a first name after all the gyrations and I gave her both my wife and my first name as I was not sure which my wife used when she placed the order. More eye rolls/attitude non-sense as she handed me my pizza. I said “how about a little grace as I’ve never been here before” to which there was an audible utterance taking the good Lord’s name in vain from her as I exited. I did not appreciate that…at ALL. So, I said “this is also my last time here, buddy” to which she said “good for you” as I exited.
So, clearly this location is doing very well and is engaged in a campaign to ensure no new customers from the neighborhood are gained. I’m more than happy to oblige.
I hope the young lady was only having a bad day.
Palio’s Pizza is hands down one of my favorite spots! The food is always fresh, delicious, and made with quality ingredients. Their pizzas are loaded with flavor, the crust is perfect, and the toppings are generous. The pasta and salads are just as good, so no matter what you order you can’t go wrong. The staff is friendly, attentive, and make you feel welcome every time you walk in. The restaurant is always clean and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether dining in or ordering to-go, Palio’s never disappoints. Highly recommend!
– Enter front doors, place order at the register, take a number, pick your seats and the food is served to you. Indoor seating is tight but manageable. Plenty of patio seating, blankets provided during cooler temps.
Approximately $50 (w/tip) we ordered, 2 thick crust pizzas, a gyro and 1 beverage. *Our son loved the pizza he went back a week after.
CONs: Gyro meat was thin slice, for me not enough meat, it was lacking.
Organizing our food order very easy and the people at Palios demonstrated professionalism, a willingness to assist had some great suggestions to help us plan and size the order. The order was ready exaclty on time! (it wasn’t sitting there for an hour or half way through like I have experienced at other pizza places.
We decided on a variety of their large, hand-tossed pizzas – the Classic, Pepperoni, and Cheese options for the bulk
Everyone loved it – I mean everyone, which, considering the size of the group, was truly extraordinary. without a doubt, will be at the top of our preference list for any future catering requirements in Colleyville area
Just an average person here, certainly no food connoisseur, but I can say it left a lasting impression. Well done, Palios!
In addition to their top-notch service, Palios Pizza has some pretty awesome food choices. It would be a mistake not to sample their BBQ Pizza and the Greek Salad.
