Some of my favorite ice cream in the whole Kansas City area. The ice cream is HUGE, unique, a fun experience and comparable in price to other ice cream shops that are smaller in size. We love coming in here. A little hidden gem.

I came in tonight and purchased almost $70 worth of food for my family… we grabbed some green salsa and onions that were at the side bar on the way out. Once I got home, while we were eating, we noticed something that looked to be a worm in the green salsa. Upon further inspection of it, it was definitely a worm. I tried to reach out to them to discuss the situation, however they hung up in my face and kept the phone off the hook, so I just kept getting a busy signal when calling back. This is disgusting and I wanted to at least talk to them regarding the situation but since they don’t want to talk I’m writing a review here in hopes that they would like to take care of this manor, as I’m at the point of reporting to the health department.. I’m extremely disgusted and can’t believe this.

We ordered 3 different types of sopes: al pastor, steak and carnitas. The carnitas were the only ones worth eating. The Al pastor was very fatty, and the steak was very salty. My husband usually salts everything, and he was the first to point out that the steak was too salty.
We also ordered a green juice and an orange juice. Both were fresh, the orange juice seemed to have a lot of added sugar.
We probably won’t be back.

Today I tried the Taco Tuesday special 4 tacos ( choice of meat) for $8.89. Tacos were filled with plenty of meat, cilantro, and onions with your choice of delicious sauces. We also had to try chicken quesadilla and it was just as good.
They have an extensive menu; Serving authentic tacos, breakfast, dessert, and yummy drinks. Customer service was excellent and restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend this place, if not for dinner stop by for dessert.

College year carne asada burritos from Albertos in San Diego was amazing. I’ve tried so many places in Independence from food trucks to authentic looking sit downs and they are either dry and small or smothered with a sauce on top (making it an enchilada-rrito) just atrocious. Paleteria is more of a drinks and ice cream shop but their food is 100% Tijuana style mexican. If you coming from Cali, this is your place. Pictures are from El M* off Noland vs Paleteria’s burrito

I ordered the chicken tacos this time; they weren’t what i expected! The chicken was dry, over cooked & lacking flavor! I also think they should serve the salsas with those tacos instead of limes; that might’ve saved them! Other Than that they have decent food! I liked the barbacoa tacos better!

Amazing food! Good quality of meat depending on who is preparing the food, very authentic tasting I give it a 10 out of 10!!. I gave four stars only because some people don’t give me as much meat as I would like on my quesadillas

I have been coming to this establishment with family and friends for years.
I am disappointed with our last visit which resulted in the discovery of a roach located on the wall behind the kitchen prepping area during operation.
The dismay to see staff looking back at us and laughing as if this is an acceptable response baffled us.
No one tried to kill or remove the insect from the establishment.
I’m hoping they have since then exterminated and deep cleaned their place of buisness before servicing the community continued. .
Be careful, safe, and aware!

The woman working the register at night is shockingly inattentive and consistently rude. She even refuses to let customers use the store’s restroom, which is basic courtesy in any service establishment. Her attitude toward people is unpleasant she doesn’t smile, she’s dismissive, and behaves with a level of unprofessionalism that feels almost primitive. It’s astonishing how someone with such poor manners can carry herself with that level of arrogance. Truly disappointing experience. On another note, the food is good, but the employees are always gossiping, and it’s quite unpleasant to witness.
