It was almost a 5 all the food was fantastic. I think it’s the best mexican restaurant on this side of saint louis. The salsa could have been thicker and the chips lighter with a crisp freshness. Definitely you have to try it. Don’t forget to follow me I I review alot.

Came here with my boyfriend and we got the number 1 combo as well as the nachos. We had a very kind young lady as our server. The cups for drinks are massive, meaning less disruption for the meals. The food tastes great and the wait was close to none. Thanks for the great service, glad to have another nice place to go to in Troy.

We had been there once before and this time sat outside. It was cold but the waiter put us right under a heater…I love the outside sitting area so much more! The food was the usual nothing outstanding and nothing horrible. I still feel like the margaritas are a little light.

Great service and excellent atmosphere. The wall paintings are fantastic. The margaritas were not watered down and in fact had plenty of tequila. They served the best chimichanga I’ve EVER had. Fresh and perfect seasoning on the chicken. Most places serve a soggy chimichanga, but Palenque’s was still crisp on the outside even after adding cheese on top. Their mango chipotle chicken tacos were sweet and savory. Way better quality than typical Mexican restaurants in the Midwest. The salsa was balanced with a hint of spiciness that allowed us to keep crunching away. So glad they’re in Troy!

This is our new go to Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious and the margaritas are great. I got the pina colada margarita and quesadilla birria. The consumé is super rich and flavorful can’t wait to try the rest of the menu

Excellence. Great service, modern decor and atmosphere. The food is also very good, and location is easy to get to and find. This is the type of business Troy needs. Thank you! A new favorite for me.

The service and food here is superb. The best Mexican food restaurant i have eaten at. They really stepped up their game and have a wider variety of dishes than I have ever seen! The service is great! They also have an outdoor patio which is closed in with heaters during the winter. You can’t go wrong here!

Like many Mexican restaurants, this one felt familiar—the biggest difference usually being the chips and salsa. We decided to check out the new location in Troy and overall had an okay experience.

One of the biggest issues was the temperature inside the restaurant. It was extremely cold, and every time the door opened, a rush of cold air came in. That’s something I’d recommend addressing to improve guest comfort.

Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, which definitely helped the experience. The food was average—nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either.

The restaurant was also fairly loud inside. Adding some sound-absorbing panels could help reduce the noise. Additionally, the floors could use more attention, or at least a quick sweep between seating guests.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but there’s room for improvement. With a few adjustments, this could be a much more comfortable place to dine.

First time here and it was the day after Christmas so we expected busy. We showed up with no reservation about 5:30 and were seated immediately indoors. First impression was the noise. It was very (VERY) loud in there, so not thrilled with that part.

Server came promptly and was able to fill drinks and take our order quickly. Friendly staff and although super busy, were pretty attentive. We were near the restrooms and better fans are a must for this place. Smelly for sure.

Chips and salsa were fine, but standard. I had the three taco plate with three meats (chicken, beef, pork), and my wife had carnitas. It wasnt bad but fairly standard without a lot of zing with regard to flavor.

Overall a mediocre experience that was drowned out by noise.

Better ventilation, sound mitigation, and improved flavor would make this a great experience. Cant recommend right now, but it has potential.

I’m from out of town and come to Troy on different occasions. Every time I’m here, I must come to this restaurant. Atmosphere is great, artwork is unique, food has been some of the best I’ve had. Food has come out very quick every time, 10-20 minutes. Chips and Salsa are also very good. Food is also very affordable for how delicious it is.
