Before o start – I want to make it clear that we are reviewing restaurants in Varadero only, not cuba, not the world.
In my humble opinion, this is a go to place when you get bored of same old food in your hotel.
I have attached some photos as well.
Was planing to get some pizza, but unfortunately they didn’t have it for the day I came in, so I went with sea food spaghetti, daiquiri as a drink*2.
Food was better than the hotels and it had flavor. Very good portion size, great amount of shrimp. Drink was fantastic – bartender, woman, had very good experience in making these cocktails.
Overall I am rating this place high for Varadero standards and giving it a 5*.
P.s you can feel that the owner of this place is a woman, her standards are high and she is trying her best to keep this place up there. Keep up the great work madam. Do not lower your standards.

Had a table for four, was greeted nicely by the waiter who spoke great English, a very nice place, however I personally disliked the flat screens showing travel videos from Italy. Food came quickly and tasted great, and prices were good. Exchange rate was 300 or 320 (can’t remember) which is what is usually offered on the street and is near the ‘unofficial’ exchange rate. It was cheap as we paid in dollars and I would absolutely recommend this hidden gem in Varadero.

What an amazing place to go

Make sure to phone ahead and get reservations

It is a small quaint little place. You have to walk down a walkway and go in the back

Sorry about the already eaten food in the pics it was that good we couldnt wait to eat

The food is so good and the value. Wow,

It was by far the best meal we ate in varadero.

For drinks, we got 1.5 liter of sangria it was so refreshing with lots of ice and fruit not to “winey,” lol
I also got a can of Coca-Cola

For our starter, we got the crostone al gogonzola was so good, very flavorful had a nice little crunch to it but still soft in the middle .

For our mains, we had to try the maccheroni “nona tina.” Without bacon, it was a very well proportioned dish that came out with the right amount of heat. We obviously added more parmesan so tasty

We also shared the vegetariana pizza it was a thin crust and was cooked to perfection. added some chili oil as well to add a little more heat because we love spice

Thank you, Nonna Tina’s it was an awesome experience. We will definitely be back

Pizza was light and tastes as good as Italian food! Also, served immediately, which is rare for the country’s standards. Booking in advance is needed because the place is quite small !!

This quaint restaurant was a joy to dine at. There were only 3 tables the night we went (with one group being larger) and one very attentive server. The food was delicious and the house red wine was great as well. Due to the small size of the restaurant, a reservation is necessary. With wine, an appetizer, two entrees and shared dessert (tiramisu), we spent under 40USD.

We managed to walk in and get a side table! Really friendly service from a young lady and other members of their team. Food was the best we’ve had in the area.. we shared the focaccia starter, and the rose rigatoni main and Davide pizza main. All very delicious. Imported beers and drinks for cocktails.

Not my first visit here and will not be my last. Limited seating and you must make a reservation but… oh my. This is real Italian food, in the heart ❤️ of Varadero. A wonderful selection of reasonably priced Italian wines, real Italian prosciutto and salami. I highly recommend the spaghetti Bolognese, might even be better than my Mother’s (sorry Mamma) and the pasta was incredible, cooked to a perfect al dente. Real cheeses from Italy and a liquor selection…. just staggering. Pizza to die for… I just can’t say enough. Wonderful desserts and espresso . Charming and attentive staff as well.
Please do yourself a favor and make a reservation.
Bravo Nonna Tia

We were told about this place by a lovely couple on the bus, en route to our resort in Cuba. They insisted we try the pizza and the pasta-make a reservation they said-and we were not disappointed.
A rich marinara sauce with quality cheese, and the crust was perfect, the basil super fresh. I brought a bottle of Pinot noir with me from Ontario, and we were charged a small corking fee.
We ordered the rigatoni bolognese for take away. Oh I took it away alright!
We were set to fly out the next morning at 11am, so the night before I put the pasta in the fridge. All packed up and ready to fly back to Canada, I cradled that pasta under my arm like a baby. At the first security check point in Cuba, I thought I was going to be told to toss it, but we made it! Passed through the scanner and I was on my way! Once in the terminal I grabbed two cold cans of coke to keep the pasta chilled.
Up and away, we arrived in Canada a short three hours later-the pasta was still chill!!!
I declared that I was in possession of a mango from Cuba and my beloved pasta. No problem! Canada border guards were pleasant and said “enjoy”!
As you can see from the photos, I reheated and enjoyed the bolognese in my own dining room! How cool is that!?! It was still al dente, and I only needed a touch of olive oil. (My 5 year old son actually started dancing when he tried it!) Nonna Tina is a wonderful memory of Cuba, and we felt like family dining with you!
We will spread the word here in Canada, and we will definitely be back! Viva la Cuba!

Cute little place, clean and pretty modern compared to most places in Varadero.
I had very nice and rum-y daiquiri – they only had lemon at the time. 5/5
Four cheese pizza was ok, not sure why people are raving about it. Cheesy yes, the dough was not good, tasted like cardboard and couldn’t make out the taste of the pasta sauce.
Tiramisu was ok too. Nothing special.
I would say food is 3/5.
I know they are all trying here, I get it.
Overall experience is 4/5. Don’t expect to be blown away but happy to support this business and it was decent. Thanks
