We came at a friends recommendation, and this food was so good. The atmosphere was amazing, The place was so pretty and welcoming. The food was ready quickly and the coffee was immaculate. I had the Cuban American sandwich. For coffee I had a mocha, I had to add sugar, and a Cafe Cubano. The coffee was so good. I highly recommend.

Stop searching other cafe’s reviews and just go here. Everything about this place is amazing. Best place to stop by after a day on the beach. The cinnamon roll is the best I’ve ever had, I now use it as my standard to compare all other cinnamon rolls. The guava & cheese pastry *chef’s kiss*. You can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches. I enjoyed the coffee so much I had to get second cup.

When my brother, visiting from up north, suggested Paladar Cuban Eatery for lunch, my first thought was, “of all the good restaurants in St. Augustine, why are we going here??” Oh my goodness! I am so glad I didn’t convince him to go somewhere else! This is the best Cuban meal I’ve had, maybe ever. I had the Shredded Mojo Pork bowl with spicy guava sauce and fried sweet plantains, husband had the steak sandwich (Pan con Bistec) and brother and his wife shared the Cuban Sandwich. My mojo pork bowl had a generous portion of pork, sautéed onions, black beans and rice. (This was plenty enough for two meals, I had the leftovers for lunch the next day.) I added their spicy guava sauce to give it a kick. The pork was tender and flavorful, absolutely delicious. Everyone loved their meal. They had a large selection of desserts, all made in house. And their coffee, their coffee!!! So, so good. We live about 45 min. north of the restaurant but my husband said he would go back just for the coffee, it is that good. My brother and his wife went back the next morning for breakfast. Everyone is friendly, in fact they are happy, and prices are very reasonable. Wish we lived closer, but we will definitely return soon. Don’t miss this gem! We definitely recommend it.

Wonderful food, friendly and kind staff. The whole experience was outstanding. We took breakfast, croquetas, empanadas. Cafe con leche y expresso. Everything was delicious. An extra point for paints and decoration. A slice of Cuba in St. Augustine.

The food was decent for what it was. But it is not Cuban food. I’m always weary of whether or not Cuban food outside of Miami/Tampa will be good. This was not an exception. The pastries, just by smelling them, I could tell were not prepared the traditional Cuban way, the dough was not traditional either, it smelled more like a French pastry. The guava was slightly too sweet. The bread was not Cuban, it was French and I specifically asked for Cuban bread. The coffee was terrible, very bitter, no foam. Not Cuban coffee at all. Overall the taste of the food was fine, I appreciated that they cooked the onions in my omelette. But it’s not real Cuban food, although it’s probably more palatable to non-Latinos that drive through or live close by. If you want “authentic” Cuban pastries and food this isn’t it but for a quick stop, it’s acceptable.

When I go to Florida I look for authentic Cuban food. This place is amazing. I see that other people have also rated 5 stars, and with good reason. They have excellent service, the deserts are gourmet, and the food is authentic Cuban food. The portions are ideal, and made with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is almost romantic, and they have tables to eat outside. This is not a loud place; you will be able to have a nice conversation and be able to hear the other person. This is nice place to visit if you are passing by, or if you are a local wanting those gourmet desserts.

So… we were in the neighborhood and recalled seeing this on one of our YouTube favorites channels. Not too crowded for a Saturday AM. They were also happy to welcome our pups on the patio. Will have to return and try somemore!
