I was thinking pakwan Fremont and Hayward are same when it comes to taste. This location was Absolutely horrible in taste. I grew up in karachi. This place food is not real Pakistani food. Nehari looked like qorma and extremely spicy. Biryani? It wasn’t even a pulao. No taste whatsoever

This place is serious. Anyone who rates otherwise came in with misaligned expectations.
The food is excellent, portions are large and price is very reasonable. It’s all self service (you order and Pa at once, pick up your own food and pack your own to go). The staff is very gentle and kind, on point.
This is not a vibe or atmosphere place; it’s a super fast service home style cooking and kabab/tandoori join. Reads as a family operators shop.
The curries and biryanis are legit. Judging but the flavor of the tika masala (excellent), I bet they make a mean tandoori chicken. The naan’s are yummy; recommend the keema filled ones.
Basically, don’t believe the low ratings: try it.

My family and I often have dinner at this restaurant, and we absolutely love it. The Pakistani cuisine here has a flavor profile that reminds us of Burmese food—simple, yet delicious. Unlike other similar restaurants, the dishes aren’t overly seasoned, which we really appreciate.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Pakwan Restaurant for around 12 years and have never been disappointed. This time, I ordered Tandoori Chicken, Goat Curry, and Butter Naan. As always, the quality of the food was top-notch. However, the only issue I consistently encounter is the quantity of oil in the curries. If they could reduce the amount of oil, I’d love to order more frequently throughout the week. Overall, still a fantastic dining experience!

Not sure why this got only 3.7 out of 5 on Google review. Fantastic food, easy process to order, fast service should all make it at least 4 out of 5. Food is huge!!! Amazingly, tip option in the pay machine has 5%, 10% options which is REALLY rare! I never see this before, all restaurants start with 15%, or even 18%.

We went with a big group and got to try many dishes and loved them all. Beef paya, chicken jhalfrezy, achari gosht, chicken haleem, sujir halwa, puri all were phenomenal, we ate our heart out! The only that was a disappointing is chicken shish kabab, did not like the taste. But my oh my, the rest were amazing. Friendly staff, pretty well maintained location.
