Hugely disappointing considering past experiences. The food was inedible, vibe antiseptic, and, origin was misrepresented not basque at all more likely Costco.

I had quiche Lorraine which was overcooked. The Salade Vert was dressed with gloppy dressing from a bottle.

Bring back the original or change the name.

A must visit of St. Clair West, Pain Perdu has been delighting locals with authentic French pastries and baked goods for over two decades. This charming bakery is a neighborhood institution, beloved for its warm atmosphere, friendly service, and most importantly, its consistently delicious offerings.

Stepping into Pain Perdu feels like being transported to a Parisian boulangerie. The aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries fills the air, while the rustic decor and French music create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Pain Perdu offers a wide variety of French classics, from flaky croissants and pain au chocolat to savory quiches and sandwiches. Their almond croissants are a standout, with a delicate, buttery crust and a rich, almond filling. The baguettes are equally impressive, perfect for enjoying with a simple spread of butter or alongside a hearty meal.

The staff at Pain Perdu are warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and a recommendation. They clearly take pride in their work and are passionate about sharing their love of French baking with their customers.

Pain Perdu is a true neighborhood gem, a place where you can always count on finding delicious, authentic French baked goods and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick croissant and coffee or picking up a baguette for dinner, Pain Perdu is sure to satisfy. After two decades, it remains a beloved fixture in the St. Clair West community and a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of France in Toronto.

I am actually obsessed with this place. The gruyere baguette sandwich blew me away. The quiche was perfect. This place does french bistro food properly and really is not too expensive. I loved it here. Definitely will be returning. Decent options available for vegetarians, but less for vegans.

Very good French bakery with legit croissants and pain au chocolat and other French pastries / cakes, just like in France ! You can also have brunch there. And their hot chocolate is really good. The proper kind with real chocolate and milk.
They also have amazing gâteau basque, which is rare to find in Toronto. They come in small and large cake size.

heating up the croissants at home before consuming is definitely serving these croissants right! they are so good and crunchy in the right spots, nothing beats a good laminated croissant. i tried out two slices of quiches, and they do not disappoint! so yummy and just the right flavour, not heavy at all, and the crust hold everything together. such a lovely shop, you could really taste the love in the food from the makers.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem. There warm chicken sandwich was so good. Proves to show simple ingredients work with the right people. A great atmosphere not to loud. And the service was very pleasant. I’m definitely getting a chocolate croissant to go.
