Cute little cocktail place!
I stopped by on a Friday night with a friend, and the atmosphere as well as the service were excellent! Even when I had to wait a little for my friend to arrive, I never felt rushed and got checked in on often to see if I was still doing okay. My friend arrived, and she tried a cocktail she didn’t end up liking and our server made her another drink that she did enjoy! It was very thoughtful on his part and shows that this place cares about their customers.

The place is a little small, so if it’s a busy night it gets filled up relatively fast. Definitely worth going in and checking out their cocktails. And if you like a dark little atmosphere this place is perfect!

I met some family and friends at this cute and quaint little wine bar. My drink was delicious. I highly recommend if your looking for a nice, chill, low-key place to have a drink.

Love the vibes in this place – dark with beautiful decor and lights. The cocktails took a while (we were there at 9pm on a Friday night so not that surprising), but they we’re ALL quite tasty.

Vibe was louder/roudier than I expected. Based on the pictures I’d have assumed the place would be more chill. Drinks were creative and what I ordered (the Green Dragon) was certainly interesting and well-crated, although not entirely to my taste.

May give it another try in the future, but probably earlier in the evening.

Cocktails are really really good! The owner and servers are super chill and nice!

Only thing is sometimes the place smells musty, but I can look past that for the really good drinks and service. The parking sucks but that’s everywhere in the Central West End.

In the 40 plus years that my friends and I have been hanging out we have been kicked out of classier drinking establishments, but this time was completely unwarranted and so disappointing because of the back story. We first heard of The Pagan Wine Bar 10 months ago when we were eating dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday for my husband. Our waiter suggested it and we were curious, but we do not live close to it. In April our world was shaken because my husband found out that he needed a bone marrow transplant. We spent over 50 nights at Barnes hospital. During the day I would walk around the CWE and often peered in the window of The Pagan Wine Bar but didn’t go in because most nights it doesn’t open until 7 pm. Thankfully my husband is doing really well, and our dear friends planned a night out for us to have dinner out with the specific intention to have after dinner drinks at The Pagan Wine Bar. We even all got hotel rooms to be close to this bar. Imagine our disappointment when we waited a very long time and then only received half of our drinks. The waiter tried to help, but the only bartender was slow and crabby. Another table that sat down after us got their drinks before us, so our friend went up to ask the bartender if we had done something wrong? With that the rude bartender promptly asked us to leave. We were stunned, so after all of that I never got my drink which was a Hendrick’s gin & tonic- not a hard drink to make. I won’t be back.

Pagan Wine Bar in Central West End is a bookstore. No wait, it’s a wine bar. Tucked away but right there in front of you, it’s a quirky, offbeat spot. The cocktails here are unique concoctions.

The bar itself can accommodate probably 25 people. It’s very small and intimate. The group of five of us had such a great time. My drink is fantastic.

What an amazing place!! Ed (who is awesome) has created a wonderful environment. Small bar that’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking. The only signage is on the door. Max capacity is like 25 people. Ed is the owner, bartender, server, etc. He’s it. The drinks were delicious. The music is laid-back and smooth. The decor is classy and smart…red and blue lighting creates a purple tone. Wood bar, walls, and chairs. Leather chairs and sofa. Highly highly recommend a visit!!

Just a fun time, what more can I say. Mainly had cocktails and each was better than the last. The bartenders Phil and Elliot were also entertaining to chat with at the bar. I was expecting a wine bar vibe from the name but I would consider it more of a dive bar, which is exactly what I was looking for. Try the green dragon!

Customer service was excellent, they make sure you get the best experience. Ed the bartender was non stop at his craft. And his skill and passion you tasted in every sip. I had the lavender sidecar as recommended by locals and I have to say it was the best cocktail ive ever had. Worth the wait for the drinks only due to first come first serve. Drinks were beautifully made and just as delicious. The Drinks are very strong but the liquor does not mask the flavors of the mix. One of a kind bar, will definitely come back anytime I’m in the area. Small capacity so get there before they open. Thank you Pagan for making our experience so wonderful! Good vibes and even better drinks!
