Cozy and comfy when you step foot in the door, friendly and overly patient staff with my crazy kiddos, WAY too big portions which is NOT a bad thing. The wait staff was fast and we waited maybe 10 minutes for our food which was DELICIOUS. We will definitely be back!!

This place used to be amazing post Covid. Every dish was full of flavor. Portion sizes were amazing and just a great place to sit and eat overall. Now the food is more on the bland side and you have to add seasonings or hot sauce to really get a decent flavoring. The staff is still friendly, but I wouldn’t come here often or spend as much as I would spend before Covid.

Pacific Southern never disappoints. The food is hearty, flavorful, and straight comfort. The chicken & waffles were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the portion size was legit. You can tell they care about what they’re serving. Staff was friendly, service was smooth, and the vibe feels local and welcoming. If you’re in Tacoma and want real Southern comfort food done right, this is a solid choice. We’ll definitely be back.

I very rarely leave bad reviews but this one’s well deserved. I doordashed this place for breakfast and it was terrible. The potatoes have zero seasoning, the grits tasted like they were cooked by a toddler and they didn’t give me my gravy for my biscuits and gravy. How do you forget the gravy do the biscuits and gravy. The best part was the butter. Terrible all around. Total waste of money and definitely never giving these guys my money again. Oh and my wife’s omelette sucked too, looked like baby throw up. Just didn’t get a picture of it.

Food, service, & the atmosphere was a definite 10/10!! My food was super good, I did get full fast but took it home and still ate it!! Server was super sweet and nice! The bar was popping and the bartenders were def doing their thangggg!!! 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone who is in the area!! Also, very cute and clean inside! Friendly place for sure!

UPDATE: I was in town and decided to go back to have another bite. I’m glad I did! Yum!!! We had the fried catfish, red beans and rice, mac & cheese, and chicken and waffles. Still the best! Fish and chicken were seasoned perfectly! The mac & cheese and red beans and rice were amazing. The service was on point as well.

First, the place is set up super cute and there is a bar in the back for those more interested in watching sports while grabbing a cocktail. You’re able to order from the full menu as well.
We ordered the fried chicken plate and the catfish plate. Sorry forgot to take pictures before eating up. The fried chicken is seasoned well, fried crispy just the way I like it. The catfish for me could have cooked longer and the greens actually was the surprise! They tasted clean, flavorful, a little spice to make it nice. The corn bread was made well, golden crust, moist, not overly sweet or buttery.
The restaurant was out of okra, sad about that but gives us an excuse to come back for another visit and I will make sure to take pictures of the food before I devour it into my belly :0)
For me the service provided was the star, the food was good, the restaurant was clean, and atmosphere was nice. We came for lunch on a weekday, seem to have mostly locals in which is nice.

Had a great experience at Pacific Southern. The atmosphere has a comfortably classic feel with a unique twist, and the food was absolutely enjoyable.
What really made the visit stand out was our server, Suna. She was attentive, respectful, genuinely kind, and always on point. Her warm smile and thoughtful service elevated the entire experience and made us feel truly taken care of.

Read mixed reviews on the cornbread so I took a chance and ordered it. Posting this for anyone else considering it— worst cornbread from a restaurant I’ve ever had in my life. Salty (not sweet at all), stale, and I’ve had way better cornbread from a box. Actually shocked a southern food restaurant would have such bad cornbread.
But the shrimp and grits… 10/10! So delicious. Large shrimp that weren’t overcooked. Spinach and sauteed onion giving the grits texture. Right amount of cheese and richness. Definitely get this!

One of my favorite breakfast places in Tacoma! The food is always delicious and the prices are for the massive serving sizes. Chicken and waffles are fun because you choose between fried chicken or tenders. The over medium eggs were perfectly cooked and the cinnamon roll French toast was the perfect sweet both.
