Reviews
The server was warm, super smiley, and made the experience even more memorable. We enjoyed a fresh oyster and a soda, but the menu also offers raw or cooked oysters, scallops, and a few other seafood options.
If the weather’s nice, grab a seat on the back deck, it’s the perfect place to relax and watch the water.
I ordered a dozen oysters for $36 — the same price I pay in Olympia, where I live. But what I received were tiny, almost microscopic oysters. It honestly felt like a joke. For that price, I usually get medium to large, fresh, beautiful oysters in Olympia. Here, it was 12 miniature pieces — completely underwhelming. I see other reviews and your replies on the size of the oysters. I feel like you should warn your customers about the size of the oyster and show an example, as we also have small oysters in Olympia, but I was never served THIS type of SMALL.
There were other issues too:
– No proper restroom or place to wash your hands — only a single portable toilet.
– My friends ordered the seafood tower, which turned out to be just simple boiled shrimp, those same tiny oysters, and a couple of spreads. (Spreads were good. I give my praises when they are due)
– My husband, who doesn’t eat seafood, ordered a sandwich — priced at $15. It was dated two days earlier (July 24, we visited on July 26). When I asked if it could be heated, they said there was no way to warm it up.
I understand that this is technically not a full-service restaurant — but it does come up as a seafood restaurant in Google search. So that sets a certain expectation for quality and freshness, especially with such a high rating. Unfortunately, what we got fell far short.
⭐ One star for the friendly, smiling staff.
⭐ One star for the beautiful waterfront location.
⭐️ One more for the nice reply from the owners
Everything else was a big disappointment.
Best of luck going forward — I truly hope you take feedback like this to heart.
The seafood store is well-stocked with fresh and frozen oysters, clams, chowders, and other local specialties, including smoked salmon and crab.
The clam chowder is a must-try item, is rich and flavorful.
The location features a deck where you can consume food and drinks, including local wines and beers, while enjoying bay views.
Sometime you can occasionally experience shortages of oysters later in the day and mixed experiences with service, but the overall quality of seafood and the unique historic setting in Oysterville make it a popular destination for seafood lovers and tourists alike.
In summary, Oysterville Sea Farms offers fresh, high-quality oysters and seafood in a charming historic setting with beautiful bay views, making it a recommended stop for those visiting the Long Beach Peninsula
The oysters were probably the smallest I’ve ever had, and they didn’t look very fresh and due to their small size I was barely able to taste them. They were not flavorful. We ordered the seafood tower, which felt very overpriced for what we got: cold cooked shrimp, 12 underwhelming oysters, two dips (only one of which was good), a salad, and a box of crackers. At around $110, it felt like a complete waste of money.
The staff were kind and the location is scenic, but the lack of proper restrooms was another letdown. There was only a portapotty, which was really gross, especially considering how far out the restaurant is. For a destination spot, I expected better amenities.
Overall, while the view and a couple of the dishes stood out, the seafood tower and facilities left a lot to be desired.
