We started with PEI oysters, impeccably fresh and served on ice with elegant accompaniments. The ceviche was bright and clean, balanced perfectly between citrus and spice. A surprise favorite was the hummus, which leaned savory and earthy with warm pita and seasonal garnishes. It was a smart twist on a familiar classic.
The roasted beet salad was generous and visually striking, showcasing the kitchen’s eye for color and texture. For mains, the whole branzino was a showstopper. Crisp skin, tender flesh, and a light herbal oil that complemented without overpowering. The skirt steak was rich, deeply flavorful, and perfectly cooked, paired with a bold jus and well-roasted vegetables. The roasted chicken was a quiet triumph. Juicy, aromatic, and rustic in the best way.
Service was polished, attentive, and informed. Each course was timed well and delivered with confidence.
This isn’t just a resort restaurant. It’s a place worth seeking out whether you’re staying at Wild Dunes or just passing through. Chef Austin Blake is doing thoughtful, ingredient-driven work that stands on its own.
Then we went for dinner and were amazed again! Manager Dana was able to seat us right away. She was so attentive! Chef Thalita is so good at what she does! She was so personable and knowledgeable. Our server, Nick was so on top of things and his demeanor made our whole experience amazing! By the way – his chocolate milk made our son smile!
The oysters were amazing, the Asian salad was so refreshing, the kids chicken strips for our son were huge, and the dessert-ASTOUNDING!
Thank you! We can’t wait to visit again!
Plopped down on a bar stool. Wait this is important. The back to the stool is only 4″ high. Don’t lean back or you will go straight over. Very unusual and dangerous design.
Anyway got into an in depth conversation with the female bar tender about French wine. She shocked me with her knowledge. She even told me about her trips to French vineyards. She was more knowledgeable and interesting than most sommeliers. I can’t imagine why she works THERE.
I mean it’s not a bad place but it’s a slow hotel lobby bar. If I ever owned a nice bar or restaurant I would hire her first.
If I already owned one I would be over there trying to hire her.
I have another point to make. I went to maps so I could find this restaurant bar and write a review but it’s no where to be found. Someone in the internet department needs to do some work and post some photos and maybe a menu.
Then out a link to where it is in the hotel.
Shot out to to a wonderful waiter named Mario that provided top notch service.
Shout out to Drew the Manager who took out the time to greet me and speak to me about my breakfast visit! I will re-visit this spot again in the future.
We were also fortunate to meet Christina, who I believe is the assistant manager, and she was absolutely wonderful. She checked on us several times throughout the evening and made sure everything was going smoothly. Her kindness and attention to detail really stood out and added so much to our experience.
Our server Kendall was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, she was spot on. We had such a great conversation and learned that she works there during the summers. The Oyster Catcher is extremely lucky to have someone like her. She was sweet, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
A huge shout out to the chef as well. The food was amazing. We had the skirt steak, potatoes, Caesar salad, and fried oysters. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared.
Lastly, hats off to the bartenders who made the old fashioneds spot on. Their skill and care in crafting each cocktail were the perfect finishing touch to an exceptional evening.
Thank you so much to the entire team for making our staycation so memorable. We will absolutely be coming back just for another meal at the Oyster Catcher. Five stars are not enough. Everyone we met was truly outstanding and we are so grateful for the incredible hospitality.
You will leave hungry!
114$ plus tip for one fish full of little bones no sides , plus one a tiny bowl with rice with octopus..but you can not see the octopus!! We are going somewhere else for dinner after this.
