It’s been a little while since I’ve been here last, and it’s always tough when you do back-to-back sushi nights because comparisons naturally happen.

Unfortunately, the service wasn’t the same. Basic server/busser fundamentals–like keeping guests’ water glasses filled–were lacking. We had to make several requests.

Another concern was the sesame seeds. I don’t recall there being so many in the past; pretty much on every dish. I specifically requested a seaweed salad with no sesame seeds, yet it still arrived with them–twice. It seemed as though the server may not have been listening. If the salad is premixed, that should be communicated to guests so they can make an informed choice. Also when reviewing my pictures you will see what I’m saying.

The salmon and ahi were not as fresh or had a quality taste as it did at the another establishment we recently visited in Reno. With only about five other tables in the restaurant, it was surprising that two servers still seemed unable to keep up. The timing and flow of the food also didn’t fare very well.

Since I last visited I referred a couple of others to check them out and they shared similar feedback–“it was just okay.” Meaning they probably won’t return.

I also miss some items from the original oyster menu, especially the peel-n-shrimp.

Our next visit may be longer than 4-5 months. Hopefully things turn around, as I use to look forward to eating at this place.

Excited to try their NEW AYCE sushi ! Another great visit and so happy to see Chef Camacho ! Although both Sushi/Oyster and Grill busy he took the time to say hello and take a picture for me.
We tried a few items … love love love their shrimp tempura; light batter, no dipping sauce however they drizzle a little sauce on top of them and they’re tasty good without dipping sauce.
We also ordered a couple appetisers and few rolls Dancing Dragon, Golden Gate and Crystal Dragon – all different tasting but Dancing Dragon was our fave!
Good service by Brandon ! Stop in for lunch or dinner !

Wow wow wow ! … what can I say !
Excellent service and superb food! Gives me Vegas vibes (full of flavor) ! Reminds me of the Palace Station close but not quite the same.
Hours differ from website so check prior to arrival.
First time here and not much of an oyster person .… HOWEVER … YUM !
Everything we ate was good but I thoroughly enjoyed the peel-n-eat shrimp spices the most … ONOLiCOUS !

Mahalos to Chef Camacho, Beau and Nohely !
We will definitely be back !

Brought some friends to try the Oyster Bar because the food is amazing! They are from California and agreed the food was great for the value. I recommended them to try the lobster roll, but everything was amazing on the menu. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that there was no one at the front counter to take us to a table after standing around for around 10 minutes. We had to walk to the area and ask. Even when we walked in, the staff were standing around chatting with each other. This was a similar problem I had the last time I came here. However, I would like to say that Nohely was amazing. She was attentive and works fast!
Pedro got us seated and our drink orders, but having a sense of urgency would be great to keep wait times to a minimal. There was only one table when we went in at 8pm on a Saturday night, but they got really busy soon after so it got noisier.
Having all the multiple TVs is enjoyable as well.
We ordered the following:
– Oysters on the half shell – Dozen: We all shared this an it’s fresh every time l’ve had it so far. It would be nice to put two of the Tabasco sauces for people who order a dozen and one for half a dozen.
– Lobster roll: My friend was raving about how good it was.
– Linguine & Clams: My other friend really enjoyed the linguine and clams. He said it is a good amount of food for the price.
– Gumbo: My boyfriend got this and said it was good.
He didn’t know what to expect since it was his first time trying gumbo.
– Ciopinno: Comes with white rice. The Ciopinno was amazing, and I did not expect to get such a large bowl of it! Definitely getting my money’s worth! The rice was average though.
Overall, the food was set at a high standard and I hope it continues to stay that way. Loved the prices as well. My friends even said they’ll stay closer to Sparks the next time they visit just to come here for food! Based on what other tables ordered, seems like we can order items from The Grill right next to it as well. One star was removed only because of the wait at the beginning, so I would hope to see an improvement next time.

Just had the very best experience at The all new Oyster Bar. I ordered the Shrimp cocktail and the Maine Lobster roll. Both were phenomenal and the roll had so much lobster in it I am stuffed.
The wife ordered the Oysters in the Half Shell and the Pan Roast. I tried the Pan Roast and then continued to ask for more bites because it was THAT good! Well done Legends Bay! Thank you for bringing this hidden gem to Sparks! We will definitely be regulars here!

Amazing food, service wasn’t so much. Our server Shelly was amazing and handled all of the tables as best as someone could waiting on a slow cook. John did not able to keep a good pace making our food, and seemed unbothered that there were several tables waiting on him (he’s beenel working for a year at this place according to the waitress). It took many promptings from our server to get anything to our table and several other tables. It took 3 hours for us to get all 15 of our sushi rolls. This wasn’t including all the rolls and appetizers that were missed that we had to ask for and re order.

Bottom line – don’t eat here.

First and foremost, our waitress was fantastic. Helpful, watchful and always smiling. This ends the favorable review.

There was an interminable wait to get food. Ridiculously so. Our lovely waitress apologized many times.

The tempura was cold. Came out in batches – always cold.

Our order dribbled out over 2 hours. Sometimes we waited 30 minutes for the next part of our order to be delivered.

In the end a waiter came over and said all our food had been delivered to the table. This was incorrect. We were still missing dishes. The sushi “chief” argued with the waiter that our order was complete. He finally looked at our order sheet to see he was wrong. Then he prepared other orders before completing ours.

It’s absolutely clear this restaurant could care less about their customers.

Strongly suggest skipping this place.

The sushi is terrible they definitely do not use quality fish. All the fish was mushy and they use imitation crab. The waitress we had was amazing friendly and welcoming. The people making the sushi are slow and have no idea what they’re doing. Did all you can eat and ordered 4 rolls it took nearly 30 minutes for 4 rolls and we were the only people in the restaurant.

I was in the Legends Bay Casino Grill with 2 other people. Why can’t I order from the Oyster Bar without physically sitting in there? I don’t mind a separate check or being served by an Oyster Bar server. They weren’t very busy in there and my husband doesn’t like fish. It seems silly. Food in the grill was good but I really wanted Oyster Bar food.

Food was not worth it, drink was gross. I literally had 3 ice cubes in it and there was no house made pineapple infused tequila. I had agave, pineapple juice and tequila. And there was so much chamoy sauce I couldn’t enjoy my tajin as it dripped down the cup. Soup was best thing but no oyster crackers they were out. Mussels were cold, lobster sandwich was disgusting! Bartender had no idea what to say, no personality, no greeting. Hubby ordered a 2nd beer and he left it on the bar and never told him finally I noticed and said hey there’s your beer. Just worst experience ever!

Great Sushi HORRIBLE SERVICE ! WE WONT BE BACK We sat down and the waitress came up and took our drink order and we got some oyster appetizers. Two parties were seated after us adjacent to us, they had their full meals before we even got our appetizer (different server) After more than 25 minutes we got our food and then we never saw the waitress again until she brought us our check. We were looking for her for 1/2 hour because we wanted to order more drinks but we never saw her. There’s only 6 tables in this restaurant – the other people were served by their server way faster than ours. Our female server did not seem interested in helping us at all. SHE NEVER CAME BACK to ask ‘how’s the food or would you like another drink ! Since we go to a lot of sushi places here’s one suggestion for this place also when they bring the food bring a little plate so you can rest your chopsticks on them and the food if you don’t eat it all in one bite. I hope management reads this and takes it seriously because the food is so good but the service is so bad we will never be back
