We stumbled upon this restaurant curious about the name. The staff we incredibly friendly and passionate about their craft. We learned that the two chefs have two different passions hence the name. We enjoyed chicken korma and tikka. Both were excellent. The naan was the best we have ever had. We wish this restaurant all the best and hope to return next time we are in the area.

Great restuarant on highway 22. We found by Google searching, but it was great. We tried the butter chicken and a type of lamb curry with rice and naan. It was very tasty and the prices was reasonable. They also serve pizzas with gluten free options

Worked with my wife’s allergies to serve a fantastic meal!
The fish pakora are the tastiest, most tender i have ever eaten.
The paneer pakora was fabulous.
The beef korma was extra tender, very flavourful, and my wife could have it with 9 food allergies.
The lamb vindaloo was to die for melt in your mouth lamb bites in a spicy but very flavourful sauce.
Served with great tasting naan bread.
My wife loved her masala lemonade.
And my taste buds delighted in the rice & carrot dessert which was creamy with lots of interesting flavours.
Gary & Carly were attentive and helpful.
Particularly liked that the water was stored/ seethe from copper jugs.
Will definitely be back as this may be our new go to Indian restaurant!.

Stopped in for dinner with a friend on a Thursday evening after hearing great things about Oxtail Restaurant. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, but within a short time, two other tables had filled up. Given the quality of the food and the depth of the menu, I wouldn’t be surprised if this place gets much busier in the near future.

We started with the beef samosas and tamarind chutney, then shared the butter chicken (medium spicy), beef vindaloo (medium hot), basmati rice, and a masala lemon-aid. The butter chicken and vindaloo came with unlimited naan refills, which was a great touch. The samosas were average in size but extraordinarily crispy and packed with flavorful filling—so flavorful, in fact, that the tamarind chutney wasn’t really needed, though it added a nice hint of sweetness for those who like contrast. The masala lemonade was interesting and a little unusual to my Western palate: sweet and carbonated, with distinct notes of ginger, turmeric, and cumin. Still enjoyable, and definitely a unique complement to the meal.

The menu is surprisingly extensive for a small-town location, offering a wide variety of choices. Prices are on par with other Indian restaurants, but the portion sizes are noticeably larger—especially considering the high quality of both the food and service. The staff were incredibly friendly, personable, and knowledgeable, offering thoughtful recommendations and helpful insights into the dishes, ingredients, and spice levels.

The food strikes a great balance between authenticity and accessibility. The staff mentioned they aim to keep the dishes as authentically Indian as possible while still being approachable for Western palates—and it shows. The butter chicken was rich and creamy with generous chunks of chicken breast, while the beef vindaloo delivered a satisfying heat and tang, with tender beef and large pieces of potato in a bold, spicy gravy. Both dishes came with plenty of sauce—perfect for mixing with the basmati rice and scooping up with naan. Speaking of naan: it was exceptional. Baked fresh in a clay oven, it arrived at the table hot and piled high in a basket, with the perfect chewy-crispy texture. Honestly, the naan alone is worth the visit.

The space has clearly been upgraded since its Turner Inn days, though the decor is still fairly basic. A bit of ambient music to match the cuisine would have been a welcome addition, but that’s a small detail. During our visit, the buffet tables were being replaced, and staff reassured us that the layout would continue to be accessible for guests with mobility challenges. The entire space was spotless—the floors, cutlery, dishes, and stemware were all clean. The washrooms were brightly lit, well-maintained, and designed with wide doors suitable for walkers or wheelchairs.

For two people ordering à la carte, our total came to $58.54. As someone with a big appetite, I was seriously impressed—not only were we both completely full by the end of the meal, but we had enough left over for a full take-out container the next day. The value for money here is excellent. And if the buffet matches the à la carte quality, it’s probably one of the best food deals in town. Definitely worth a return visit.

I stopped in to grab a beef donair for lunch (first time being there) I was met by the owner Gary who was really nice. He showed me the ordering process which was really easy and he showed me around. The buffet looked amazing! I tried a sample of the lamb curry and it was delicious. Gary also ordered me a fresh Naan, it was made on site and amazing! My donair came out and it was great also. I ordered the extra meat with multiple fixings. I can’t wait to drop in for supper with my wife.

We were recommended Oxtail by a family member and decided to give it a try while passing through town. Niether of us had much experience with Indian food but the owner was very helpful and walked us through what to start out with a d offered suggestions for us newbies. 12/10 blown away with the quality of our food, the flavour, and the interactions with all the staff. The Butter Chicken was amazing and totally changed our outlooks on indian cuisine. Can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely keep coming back, as well as telling others to come

Our family wanted to go out for a special celebratory meal. We had heard great things about Oxtail and decided to try it. Wow – what a wonderful meal! The service was friendly, generous, and kind. The food was fantastic – even our teens loved it! We had the dinner for 4, which was fun as we were able to choose several dishes and try so many things. It included drinks, starters, main dishes, dessert, plus unlimted rice and naan, all for $40/person. An absolute ton of food! Every dish was fabulous and we all left painfully stuffed, wishing we had more room in our bellies and looking forward to leftovers tomorrow. We’re so glad we found this gem and wish the owners much success so we can go back again and again for years to come.
