Booked late on Saturday evening after pre-arranged plans went out the window.
The staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, and generally looked happy for our custom.
It wasn’t overly busy, as we thought due to the Champions LeagueI final being played at this time. But that suited us fine.
We had a few poppadoms to start with all the usual dips, all very nice and nice, non greasy.
I had a dish that I’d never heard of for my main, which was Bangladeshi Labra. My wife had Chicken Tawa. Both dishes were delicious and we both said they were one of the best curry dishes we’d had. We had a peshwari man and rice as side dishes.
Beer is Cobra on tap which is nice. Overall lovely food and great service.

The best Indian restaurant I have eaten at since I left Birmingham. The service was exceptional, the Wednesday deal was unbelievable value. Overall we spent £35 for two people, we each had a beer, poppadoms with a selection of chutneys, garlic naan and a curry (Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Vindaloo). This is undoubtedly going to be our new go to Indian restaurant, everything was authentic and delicious and the gentleman who served us was warm, welcoming and friendly!

Had a takeaway from Ovilash which was delicious, the food was hot and fresh, the chicken tikka curry was tender and tasty, the egg pilau rice was light and aromatic, the garlic nan and onion bhaji the same quality. The service was excellent, when we arrived the man invited us to sit down while the order was collected from the kitchen, the young man who bought the food to us held the doors open for us to leave, all very respectful of customers. The restaurant is small and the decor impeccable, it has a very cosy atmosphere. We both agreed it was probably the best curry meal we have had and we have had quite a lot. We look forward to more takeaways and meals in too as it was very nice. Highly recommend.

Incredible food and service.
I explained that I have a nut allergy and am lactose intolerant. The owner ensured that my food was cooked separately and that it was safe for me to eat.
I enjoyed every mouthful. It was delicious.
The owner called me to double check that everything was alright, which was very much appreciated. This resturant really cares about their customers.

My Wife & I visited on Saturday 8th June, the service from the moment we entered the restaurant was excellent, Our meals arrived very quickly, they were very hot & good portion size, totally delicious, every member of staff we spoke to were very helpful, this was our first visit to Ovilash & after this booking it certainly won’t be the last, 100% satisfied & a restaurant I’ll definitely recommend, it might be tucked away out of the town but it’s well worth checking out, total perfection.

Had our first takeaway tonight. Won’t be going back. Food bland, lots of sauce, not much content. Was more like a stew than a curry. Disappointed tbh, not cheap either.
