The food was pretty yummy and it’s good portion sizes for the price.
This restaurant has a drive through in addition to counter service you order from right when you enter. We were greeting by a nice young lady who explained the menu when we had a question. We ordered a wide variety of all the meats as well as a loaded potato to give an honest review. We found the Brisket, Sausage and Ribs to be excellent. We liked that they weren’t slathered in BBQ Sauce as if they were trying to cover up something! The Turkey could have benefitted from injection however as it was not dry but bland. They do not offer Pulled Pork which, being from Memphis, made me sad. They also did not have any dry rub which would have helped the Turkey tremendously. The sides were okay. Meals are served with buttered white bread toast. Speaking of buttered… They were out of real butter they said and only whipped spread was offered which is toxic seed oil and I avoid it. The potato was a nice size and loaded with ample fixins. There’s a “bar” where you get jalapenos, pickles, onions, hot sauce and drinks.
THE BAD: PEACH COBBLER (or lack thereof). As a true Southerner that was NOT PEACH COBBLER! Please remove that asap!!! What that was: Canned Peach Pie Filling and Graham Cracker Pie Crust crumbled up in it. I honestly couldn’t believe it and they should be ashamed of themselves charging for such trash. Yes, as my parents were from Mississippi and I grew up on Peach Cobbler I have strong feelings about it.
THE ULGY: They had three young girls working and they had plenty of time to chat among themselves but did not bus the dirty tables!!! There was a long 10 top by the door that was dirty when we walked in (as well as others elsewhere) and it had not been touched when we finished eating and left. Where was the manager??? This was inexcusable and lazy.
Will we return? Perhaps but there are many other BBQ establishments to experience. We live in South Irving so we traveled for this.
Desserts looked amazing but I didn’t buy any. I had some free ice cream and was good.
The place is clean and has plenty of seating. We sat outside because the wealthy was beautiful and it was very nice until we realized that both visando staff come out there to smoke. I wish they would do so away from dining area. I won’t be seating outside next time.
Service was great and everyone that served us was very kind and professional. I definitely will come back.
Today I decided to take my kids for a breakfast, and as always I got my coffee and my huevos ranchero. When I went to serve myself coffee, over the counter was a cockroach walking, I told to a worker about it, she got a napkin, picked it up and in about 5min went back to “clean”. By that time I was thinking If the kitchen was clean or there was cockroach everywhere. When I got my huevos rancheros I took a look in the food to make sure nothing was in there, but I saw anything so I started to eat, when I had have eaten almost half of the eggs I got to see there was a cockroach tail in my food, IT WAS SO DISGUSTING!
I told to the same employee about, she took my plate and I never saw her again. I had to tell to another woman about it and I asked for my money back. I have to say that no one came to see us to apologize for that unpleasant experience.
