I would like to express my dissatisfaction with my experience at Outback in Niagara.
I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time, I found the experience terrible: the prices are extremely high for what is offered, the menu options are limited, and the food is simply not tasty. I left very disappointed but decided to give it a second chance.
Today, I returned with my family hoping for a better experience. We ordered the traditional onion, pasta, and fries, but nothing has changed. Once again, the food lacked flavor and does not justify the high prices. It was another very disappointing experience, especially because I was with my family and expected to have a pleasant time together.
Unfortunately, I will not be coming back.
The only positive aspect was our server, who provided excellent service — she was polite, attentive, and professional. If it weren’t for her, the experience would have been even worse.
I hope the restaurant reconsiders the quality of its food and the value it offers to customers.

The supposedly rare steak was cooked medium. A steakhouse that don’t know how to cook steak. Garbage food for way too much money. The blooming onion was good, but doesn’t justify the failure of a steak.

I stopped by the Outback Steakhouse in Niagara Falls on August 15, 2025, and honestly, it was a bit disappointing. I ordered an 8 oz and an 11 oz sirloin, both came out medium-well, but the texture and flavor just weren’t enjoyable for me. For the price — nearly $50 for the larger steak — I expected a lot better.

The drinks (Cherry Lime and Pine Sunshine) were fine, but overall the bill came to $142.90, which felt steep given the quality of the meal. Service was okay, but the food just didn’t live up to expectations.

I don’t think I’d come back here, especially with so many other dining options nearby in Niagara Falls.

Absolutely disgusted. Went there with my family and my brother-in-law‘s family of four food was moderate portions were small. Upon arrival of the bills, the restaurant took it upon themselves to charge my brother-in-law‘s family of four $80 as a tip towards themselves. The poor family was forced to pay in the end $318!! I am absolutely mortified. I am not a person to leave reviews so if you see this pick somewhere else to eat because by the time you’re done, you won’t have a penny left for groceries to feed your family when they’re done with you. Really disgusted what a joke.

Unfortunately, this visit didn’t meet expectations. The fries and onion bloom were overly salty, which made them hard to enjoy. The steak itself was underwhelming and lacked the flavour and quality we were hoping for.

We were also disappointed to learn that the food was not fried in beef tallow, despite many claims associated with Outback Steakhouse suggesting otherwise.

Given the higher price point, we expected a much better experience — especially when compared to The Keg Steakhouse + Bar. Overall, it just didn’t feel like good value for the cost.

(Prefacing with this order was placed online for pickup) Wanted to try this place for a while and today saw a buy one get one free on their mac and cheese and chicken fingers. Decided to give it a try and I am quite disappointed. As much as I wanted to enjoy it I could not justify spending as much money as I did on the meal—even as a bogof. My chicken fingers were tough and lacking flavour (there was also only three of them), the steamed broccoli was, well, steamed broccoli (I was a little surprised there was no seasoning whatsoever but I enjoy broccoli regardless and they were boiled to an excellent consistency so I can’t complain). The potato was my favourite part of the meal despite not typically being a potato lover; it was a great size and the flavour (salty with a hint of lemon) was thorough and pleasant. Now the real killer, the Mac and cheese. This I was the most hopeful for. It was largely lacking flavour except for a really odd damp, almost musty flavour that took me a while to figure out. It had absorbed the flavour of the cardboard container it was in. By the time I realized it was all I could taste in it. Extremely disappointing.
Now I will acknowledge the chicken fingers are stated as a kids meal from where I ordered and that a lot of the mac and cheese went to the dogs and not our bellies, however, the four meals we ordered were hardly enough to fill the two of us. We got off paying about $30 but if we had gone in and didn’t have the buy one get one free our total would’ve surpassed $70 inc tip. I understand they’re a steak house and as much as I still want to try their steak, between all the other not-so-pleased reviews and this experience I don’t think I will be going back.

The steak is cooked exactly the way I asked (medium rare), the seasoning of the Aussie fries was surprisingly good, the peanut butter pie was quite big and tasty. The waitress Carly gave exceptional service, was very attentive and polite. The decor is Australian themed, which is nice.
The prices on the menu are in the US dollar, so be ready to pay more than the total.
Overall, a great experience and Carly was awesome.

I had a terrible experience with hidden fees at this restaurant. My bill included a charge called NFDF, which was NOT listed on the menu, nor was I informed about it before ordering.

When I requested to have it removed, the waitress lied and claimed it was ‘Canadian Law’ and that she couldn’t take it off. This is completely false. The NFDF is a voluntary private fee, not a government tax. I do not recommend this place; save your money and go elsewhere.

There are much better food options in the area that are actually honest with their customers.

Stopped in here for lunch, $151 (Can) for five people. We’d ordered a fair amount of food and didn’t think it was incredibly unreasonable.

The food was OK, nothing to brag about but better than the other options lining the touristy trip.

The atmosphere was quiet. We were the only people inside the entire time. It was clean and welcoming but bare.

Service wasn’t bad. Attentive enough, and friendly. Kept drinks filled and ensured we had what we needed.

We’d stop back.
