Additionally, the Funion was fun. A little overcooked but that’s okay because the steak and sides made up for it. Terrific mac n cheese. The coleslaw, potatoes and green salad were nice.
After rolling into Rochester and getting settled at our hotel, we decided to kick off the weekend with something familiar — Outback Steakhouse. Not knowing the area yet, it felt like a safe and satisfying choice, and it absolutely was.
We arrived around 4:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised to be among the first guests for dinner — no wait, no crowd, and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s always nice to enjoy a meal without the chaos of a packed dining room.
Our server was friendly, quick to take our order, and kept things moving smoothly. While drink and bread refills could’ve been a little more attentive (especially with such a quiet dining room), the overall service was still solid.
The food came out fast, hot, and exactly how we ordered it — generous portions, great flavor, and honestly more food than we could finish. We all ended up taking leftovers back to the hotel.
Sure, it’s a national chain, but this Outback delivered a consistently good experience, making it a perfect, no-stress way to start the weekend. Thank you, Outback, for a satisfying meal and a comfortable dining experience.
Besides the point there. My overall irritation is we were checked up on 3 times, once upon arrival, once to grab our order and one for boxes (another issue I will cover). We sat without drinks for a good half of our meal, and when we got our drinks my husband expressed to me he didn’t want to actually drink anything for fear of our waitress never even noticing. Which he was right. It wasnt until the end of our meal where she noticed and provided us our refills and gave us boxes.
Mind you I had a soup, and was provided a box to take it home… I was so irritated and frustrated that I just gave up. We left. Im amazed my husband tipped this server.
It appeared it was not just us who happened to experience this issue but I can’t be sure as I am not the other patrons. What I will say, if you think the restaurant will be busy. Dont go. Its not worth eating a basically raw meal for a price that just isn’t worth it for beyond subpar service. Go somewhere else.
At the time that I went they had a ” three course meal ” and I went with the house salad, the 8 oz sirloin, and then the cheesecake with raspberry sauce. For $22 it was a pretty good deal. How salad was nothing to write home about but it was crisp and cold and fresh. As I stated earlier the steak I ordered medium rare and it came out with a nice red center. The seasoning was great and I had no struggles chewing or enjoying the steak. The cheesecake was also good although I did take it home and eat it later.
Overall everybody enjoyed their meal, nobody had any complaints. The service was quick end excellent and the manager stopped by to make sure that we had no complaints or questions.
I would go again.
