Out of the Barrel Taproom features a wide rotating selection of draft, canned, and bottled beers from multiple breweries. We partner directly with breweries and showcase as much beer as we can from them. By doing this, we hope to turn our customers into as big of a fan of these breweries as we are.

This was our first time visiting Out of the Barrel in San Carlos. We arrived around 5 PM and the place was already pretty full, which gave it a lively, welcoming vibe. It’s conveniently located right next to the train station—perfect for game days or anyone looking for an easy stop.
The space is on the smaller side, but it feels cozy rather than cramped. They had an impressive selection of IPAs, which hop lovers will definitely appreciate. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have any ciders available, but the staff made up for it—they were efficient, friendly, and really knew their stuff when it came to the beer.
Overall, a solid spot for a casual hangout. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!

What a wonderful place to hang out with friends! A HUGE selection of craft beers, both on tap and in cans. And the people behind the bar are friendly and kind. The outdoor seating area is lovely, and this place is located right be the San Carlos Caltrain station. Perfect!

Great location and vibe next to the San Carlos train station. 32 beers on tap with a large selection of beers to go. The on tap beers come in 17oz or 5oz pours enabling people to sample or enjoy beers. The food on-site is made locally and prepared on-site, they’re snacks but very tasty.

Stumbled upon this brand new beer joint. Industrial swanky design with plenty of beer on tap. Right at the San Carlos train station plaza adds to the vibes and openness. Combined with a beautiful clear summer sky, this place was an evening elysium.
Beer selection is fabulous. Flatbread was tasty and hearty. But absolutely go for the atmosphere. Great addition to San Carlos downtown.

Decided to have a drink here whilst waiting for my train. Friendly staff and nice drinks on tap. They even let you sample first. The only thing that let it down was that as it was busy inside I decided to sit outside. The lady said as it was cooler she could put the heater on but then after buying a drink she said she didn’t have the lighter to do it.
If you have heaters and paying customers you need to sort this.
It just meant it was uncomfortable to sit outside which isn’t fair when you have bought a drink.

Nice place to have a beer and wait for the train. A little pricy but good choices of beers. They also have 4 packs to go.
