Went to Otto’s for breakfast. Our server was great, very friendly, the room is beautifully appointed with cool old town pics on the walls, and the food was really good.
However the cloth napkins wrapped around silverware were actually wet. Like they didnt have enough time to dry before they were taken out of the dryer. Breakfast took a long time to come out. Also there was no music or ambiance so it was oddly quiet in the room while we waited.

My husband and I went to dinner on a Friday night for fish frys. The beer battered cod was good. French fries were also good. Nothing special. Coleslaw was a sweet and sour – not our style. My husband had the perch. It was fairly flavorless. His potato also seemed like it was from the day before. Service and atmosphere were great though! Food could use some work.

Outdated sadly and not well managed. We weren’t warned before we were seated that pizza oven was out. That is exactly what we wanted to order. Although few minutes later while we waited a pizza came out of the kitchen to another table.
Chilly was fine one cup is nice and hot another cold for some reason. I wouldn’t reckoned this place for any meals. It doesn’t feel like you can trust the the kitchen to make quality safe meals here.

We should have known better when we came here on a Saturday morning during one of the busiest weekends in Elkhart Lake all summer and we were the only customers to be seen.
Our orders were wrong, the description on the menu didn’t match the ingredients in our meals, and the staff was arguing and didn’t seem to care about the customers at all.
The whole place seems to be worn out. The decor, furniture, carpet, and even the employees. How this resort is still “Four Diamond” is beyond me, it needs serious refurbishment.

I was here on a Friday night after a convention at the hotel. There was only two other tables already in the restaurant when I got there. I was seated right away shortly after my order was taken. The food came out fairly fast.
I ordered the Friday night fish fry and it was very tasty. It came with choice of potato, coleslaw, and dinner role.
Overall, it was a great experience and a great place to eat. The prices are good for the quality of food you get.

We stay at the Osthoff every year for a marriage retreat. This is the first time we have eaten here though, and it will be the last. We went for breakfast this morning. We arrived at 7:53am and it was not too busy. We ordered 2 omelets. Around 8:35 we were really taking notice how long it was taking. Waitress didn’t bother coming back or letting us know why it was taking so long or anything. Our retreat session was starting at 9:30, so we were discussing just leaving. At about 8:50 we decided next time the waitress walked by we were going to just tell her we couldn’t wait any longer and go. Then at 8:55 she came out with our food, so we just ate quickly. We ate and were out within 10 minutes once the food came. Food wasn’t good either. Eggs seemed like the kind that are poured from a carton, and texture felt like they were reheated in a microwave right before they were brought out. Definitely not worth the time or money to eat here.

Located inside a the Osthauf. Nice meal with friendly waitstaff. Hannah was exceptionally attentive. Varied menu to fit most tastes.
