This place is great, I recommend you go there. The service was great, employee was very gracious and very helpful. My Wife and I sat at the bar and Jess took care of us, then the other bartender Steven was making drinks and had a lot of stuff on the bar that you dont usually see on a bar, so I started asking questions. Apparently they make craft cocktails and they look really good, what was really good is both those Bartenders took the time to answer questions and just really be nice people and they weren’t on there phones. Full bar, cool backyard with a bar out there over looking the river walk. Otto’s was very clean and they had there health score proudly posted at the front door of 98. My Wife got the chilli cheese dog and I got the smash burger. My burger was awesome and my Wife said her dog was really good, but I’ll take her word for it because I dont like dogs. Anyway all in all we had a great experience and since neither of us had our glasses we missed a lot of the menu, saw other people’s food and will have to go back and try some more food. See you there!

I recently discovered a new spot by the river, near the Pearl District on the riverwalk, called Otto’s Ice House. It’s a very relaxed establishment, away from the tourist crowds. My bartender, James, was very welcoming. The beer glasses are frosty!! The venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with TVs and a view of the riverwalk. As I periodically visit the area for work, I typically stay in the main tourist area. I’m delighted to have ventured further afield this time.

We had such an incredible experience tonight, and it was all thanks to our server, James. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel completely welcome and taken care of. He had the perfect balance of professionalism and personality — attentive without hovering, friendly without feeling forced.
James knew the menu really well and gave fantastic recommendations. Everything he suggested ended up being amazing, and you could tell he genuinely wanted us to have the best experience possible. Our drinks were always full, food came out perfectly timed, and he checked in just enough to make sure we were happy without interrupting the flow of our meal.
What really stood out was his attitude. Even though the restaurant was busy, he stayed upbeat, patient, and incredibly kind. It’s rare to come across a server who makes the entire experience feel effortless, but James absolutely did.
Great food is important, but service like this is what makes people come back. If you visit, ask for James — he truly made our night.

Otto’s may be one of my newest favorite spots. Cold drinks, good food and solid vibes. It would make a great place to take visiting friends and family. The nachos were delicious and the redfish hits hard.

My son treated us for lunch. It was his mom’s birthday gift. Service was quick. It is on the San Antonio Riverwalk, so expect it do be loud. But it has a nice family friendly atmosphere with lots of seating outside with live music Saturday afternoon. My wife loved their nachos. Only 6 in the order, but each were individually topped. I had their Smashburger which consisted of 2 patties, onions, American cheese and their own sauce, and their French fries. It was pretty good. I also had a Margarita. Service was fast and friendly.

First time visiting Otto’s Ice House and it definitely won’t be my last. Our bartender, James (aka Jaime), was incredibly friendly and made sure our group was well taken care of the entire time. He made us cheladas and a paloma, and wow, hands down.. the best paloma I’ve ever had.
He kept us updated on our food order, checked in without hovering, and even shared a bit about his experience being in barber school, which made the whole visit feel warm and personal.
Between the great drinks, patio vibes, live music, and top-notch service, this spot is an easy recommendation. Ask for James, you’ll be glad you did!
