We visited O Toro in Plantation almost by accident since we were actually heading somewhere else, and it turned out to be such an amazing surprise. Even though it’s located in a plaza without a lot of foot traffic, this place is absolutely worth the visit. The atmosphere is very pleasant, cozy, and perfect whether you’re going as a couple or with family.

The food was delicious. The sushi is easily some of the best we’ve had we tried the California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, JB Roll, Crunchy Roll, and the Yummy Roll, and everything was fresh and full of flavor. We also ordered several appetizers and loved the crispy brussels sprouts, veggie dumplings, Tokyo fries (served with an incredible sauce), tempura asparagus, rocket shrimp with a nice kick, calamari karaage, and the house salad with wasabi vinaigrette. Everything was beautifully presented and packed with flavor.

A huge plus is their happy hour from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. They offer $5 beers, $5 sake, and $8 cocktails, along with many food options during happy hour priced between about $6 and $12, which is an excellent deal for the quality.

The menu is quite extensive, so there’s something for everyone. This place truly surprised us, and we will definitely be back. Ask for Richard he took great care of us and provided excellent service. Highly recommend if you’re in the Plantation area!

Everything about this place? Very nice. The curry tonkatsu was delightful. Not too spicy. Not too creamy. My sushi roll came out amazingly fast. Almost made me feel like it was partially pre-made. The staff was very polite and friendly. Would recommend for a date night

The coconut soup was very flavorful but a little overwhelming by itself. The grilled octopus was a bit underdone and I feel there wasn’t enough sauce but when you dip it in the soup it was amazing. The crème brûlée though stole the show. It was some good! Maybe one of the best crème brûlées I’ve ever had. My waiter was great and attentive and it was a very nice and chill spot.

Otoro Sushi is truly a gem. Chef Jimmy San is unmatched—his sashimi is artful, expertly sliced, and bursting with inventive flavor combinations that you simply won’t find anywhere else. Every visit feels like a curated experience. And you cannot leave without trying Mama’s special crème brûlée…silky, delicate, and the perfect finish to an extraordinary meal!! One of my absolute favorites in Broward!

Our first time and definitely not the last. Been checking out Asian restaurants . Grilled Salmon is 15/10 highly recommended.
I’m a huge Pad Thai fan so I get to taste other places’p pad thais
Pad Thai is 9/10 for me cause it suites my taste, not too greasy, not salty, noodles are perfect.. I just find it a little bit dry compare to others I’ve tasted.

We will definitely be a regular here.

Stopped by this sushi spot on a recommendation, and it did not disappoint. The fish was fresh, the rolls were creative without being over the top and the presentation was clean and appealing. I especially enjoyed the crispy rice and the sushi moriwase. Service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is casual but inviting, prices were reasonable for the quality and everything felt throughout prepared. The only reason it’s not five stars is that I have had slightly better sushi in a few other places.

Absolutely loved our experience at Otoro in Plantation! The moment you walk in, the sleek, modern vibe sets the tone for a standout dining experience. The decor is elegant yet relaxed, and the attention to detail throughout the restaurant really shows.

We started with the Tom Yum Soup, which was rich, bold, and full of flavor—perfectly spicy and comforting. Then came the star of the show: the sushi. Every piece was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh. The Salmon Nigiri with caviar was a luxurious bite, and the specialty roll topped with jalapeño added the perfect touch of heat and crunch.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu. You can tell they take pride in their ingredients and preparation. The “Fresh, Never Frozen” sign on the wall isn’t just for show—they truly deliver on quality.

Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just out for a great meal, Otoro is a must-visit spot in Plantation. Already planning our next visit!

I visited Otoro Sushi + Asian Kitchen for the first time, deciding to stop in for lunch. The restaurant has a great look and is very inviting, making a positive first impression.

However, the service could definitely use some improvement. It felt like I was anything but a priority during my visit. The staff attending to guests seem to be on the younger side, and I think it’s important to instill good service characteristics to enhance the overall experience. My server appeared to have a buddy at the bar who, despite not ordering food or drinks, was prioritized over the guests.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that there are no lunch specials available, so be prepared for a pricier meal. Two rolls and miso soup came to the mid-$40 range, which seems a bit unnecessary for lunch.

That said, the food itself was fantastic, and as I mentioned before, the atmosphere is really appealing. With a bit more focus on service and perhaps some lunch specials, Otoro Sushi + Asian Kitchen has the potential to be a standout spot.
