My husband and I were in the area on some business, and asked the person we met with if she had any recommendations for a good dinner nearby. She immediately said Oto, and I can see why.
At first glance, it looks like a unique little dive bar, the kind you might find in any small town. It was clear that this is a pretty popular hangout with the locals, but even as strangers to the area, we felt welcome. The service was kind, the drinks were simple and strong, but the FOOD? Oh…. oh, the food.
We shared an appetizer of corn fritters, the like of which I’ve never had! They were clearly homemade, sweet and savory, and served with a side of honey butter that sent them to the next level. I enjoyed the pork tenderloin sandwich, which was cooked to perfection and devoid of any of the gristle or tough connective tissue that so often plague this dish at other locations. My husband had their bacon burger with a side of mashed potatoes, and swore up and down that this was one of the best burgers he’d ever had: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully crafted.
No cheap pub grub at Oto; this is some REALLY good food. If you’re nearby, take some time and stop in. 🙂

A happenstance stop while in search of a tenderloin. Great call! The tenderloins were pounded and hand breaded within sight and were terrific. Perfectly prepared and cooked by Sam with zero gristle. Excellent service by Teri. Top it off with cold beer and couldn’t ask for a better experience. Wish we lived closer as the burgers looked amazing and a great selection of house specials. Great prices, too. Oh yeah….restaurant and restrooms were super clean! Can’t wait to return.

Great place! The owner is super friendly and the food us wonderful. It is a fantastic surprise in a tiny town 30-40 minutes from Sioux City trust me. It isn’t fancy it is in an old bank that is over 100 yrs old

Fun, little place. Service was friendly. Bathrooms and dining room are clean. Our food took 40 min so, not a quick place to stop for food. It was yummy though.

My husband and I finally made it out here after months of wanting to check it out and we’re so glad we did. This place is such a unique little hidden gem. The food is insanely good and the atmosphere was great. Honestly for what we got we couldn’t believe how cheap it was. It’s in a historic brick building and has a cute clean patio. Our three year old was with us and both staff and patrons were very kind and engaging with her, it was just an overall great experience. Already planning a trip back!
