In short we loved our whole experience here! The delicious rose, house made focaccia and mackerel were all stand outs to start. I had the mussels and everyone else had the pasta Genovese. My mussels were perfect and very different to the usual sugo style. My dad commented that his pasta reminded him exactly of my Nonna’s pasta.
We then finished with the perfect tiramisu.
All the staff were so friendly and fun, dining with a baby can be a bit stressful at times but they all loved interacting with him and it put me at ease.
I can’t wait to come back, thank you Alessandra and team!
The homemade sourdough and dip were very nice, but when it came to the pasta it was so overcooked that most of it was broken in smaller pieces.. the ragu was tasty but a bit watery, the pumpkin cream was very tasty, but still way overcooked pasta.
We didn’t get drinks but the tap water was served warm
We walked away with warm tummies and hearts! It’s my new regular I reckon! Thank you Alessandra and team!
From the very first moment, you’re embraced by a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like home. Alessandra, the wonderful owner, welcomes you not just as a guest, but almost like family. Her kindness and genuine passion are reflected in every detail.
The food is simply extraordinary — crafted with love, care, and exceptional quality ingredients. Every dish tells a story of tradition, creativity, and deep respect for authentic flavors. You don’t just eat here… you experience something special.
Dining at Osteria Papazzo isn’t just a meal — it’s an emotion. I can’t recommend it enough, and I already look forward to returning.
Food portions were tiny, dishes were good but quite salty. We were seated outside & felt a little overlooked with service. We needed to actively flag staff for basic service, such as ordering drinks, more focaccia bread as there wasn’t enough for the 3x of us.
When it came to dessert, my friend had to go inside as we just got forgotten about outside.. Then we were just told the only dessert (tiramisu) had sold out. No offer of anything else…
Overall, the experience just felt very Un-Italian – small portions, very average service & quite overpriced for what we received in return. Not to mention, we all left feeling hungry & headed to Darby St to find dessert.
