Dined at this restaurant solo so only tried a couple of items but what I had was absolutely delicious and I will be back to try more options. Lovely decor and very comfortable bar seating. Bread is offered and should be accepted. It is an herb focaccia and is light and springy and delicious. Tartare is a standard portion with very toasted bread points. A traditional tartare, which is good, but definitely felt like it had some heat, not sure if it was spicy mustard or something else but highly recommend. Cacio e pepe was very good. A simple dish but not always easy to master. The pasta was perfect, it had a great chew to it and the flavors were on point. I had to try the profiteroles and they did not disappoint. They were filled with ice cream, which was tasty but not needed. The pastry was light and crispy and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Mauricio A was our server tonight and he made our dining experience here so amazing. Warm, welcoming, knowledgeable about drinks and dishes. We can’t wait to come back while my husband and I are in town.
I ordered the rack of lamb, it was cooked to perfection. The absolute perfect temperature
My husband ordered the spaghetti Bolognese. He loved it and we shared a lasagna. Seriously the best lasagna we’ve ever had!

Osteria La Baia is a fantastic Italian restaurant in NY city.

The atmosphere is warm and comfortable without feeling over the top, making it perfect for both date nights and dinners with friends. The food is excellent — fresh ingredients & well-balanced flavors. The seafood dishes stand out, and everything tastes authentic and thoughtfully prepared. Service is attentive, professional, and welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations.

Overall, a reliable and high-quality spot for Italian cuisine. Definitely worth a visit.

Came for a pre Christmas dinner with my wife and we will definitely come back. Hostess was very accommodating since we didn’t have a reservation. The food was amazing, we shared the lobster fettuccine, frutti di mare squid ink pasta and scallops. Thanks to all the staff for their kindness and to our waiter Renan, who gave us excellent recommendations. Next time we’ll have the Chilean sea bass and the olive cake!

Thank you so much to the hostess who picked up my call on Christmas Day and made our last-minute reservation happen. I had been here once before with friends, and I was so happy to finally bring my beloved friends back on Christmas.

We loved everything from the moment we walked in. All of us truly enjoyed every detail from the drinks to dessert. The service was excellent as always, and the cozy atmosphere with warm lighting made the experience feel extra special and memorable.

We shared a variety of appetizers and entrées, and everything was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

Osteria La Baia is one of those places where both the food and the service make you want to come back.

We started with cocktails and they were smooth, balanced, and easy to drink—nothing harsh, nothing too sweet. Just really well made. For appetizers, the meatballs were a total comfort hit, and the roasted octopus was tender and full of flavor. But honestly, the real star was the house bread made live—served warm, soft inside, slightly crisp outside, and perfect with olive oil. Simple, but unforgettable. Don’t skip it.

For entrées, everything landed: the pasta alla vodka was rich and satisfying, the rib eye steak came out medium with great peppercorn flavor, the roasted chicken was juicy, and the gnocchi caprese was light and comforting.

Huge shoutout to our server Jarrod Thomas—he was so nice, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Perfect timing, great energy, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and special. They even surprised us with a birthday dessert for my friend, which was such a thoughtful touch.

If you’re deciding whether to come here: do it. Come hungry, order the bread, trust the cocktails, and let the service take care of the rest. We’ll definitely be back to try more.

Underwhelming. I came to this place with a lot of expectations- the reviews looked great! Let me start by saying what was great- the focaccia bread, the tiramisu were truly exceptional. Service was top notch.
However- the quality of a restaurant is known by its consistency in ensuring each dish is flavorful- not just a few. We ordered the veal shank in risotto, and the lobster fettuccine. Both were mid. They didn’t add bread crumbs to the lobster fettuccine. It had a tomato and parsley base- and the flavors were missing.

Overall- I have been to better Italian restaurants in nyc. I would skip this one.

Mauricio era un cameriere fantastico !!! The atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming. I truly enjoyed the experience and will definitely come again to try new things on the menu. The scallops were my favorite dish — perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Osteria La Baia might have glowing Google reviews—but I suspect that’s more from gentle nudges by the waitstaff than pure customer enthusiasm.

We arrived with a reservation and were seated at a cramped corner table tucked beside a large private party. The noise was chaotic—like dining inside a speaker. When we asked our waiter to move, he told us to “ask the hostess” instead of handling it himself. Eventually, the manager stepped in and relocated us to a much better spot where we could actually hear each other.

Once things settled, the experience improved. The roasted octopus starter was just okay—nothing to write home about. The Cacio e Pepe with truffle had great flavor but was a bit too oily. The Gimlet was the standout—perfectly balanced. My friends enjoyed their salad and risotto, so the food wasn’t the issue.

Overall? The meal was fine, but the service and seating left a sour note. Not a disaster, just not the polished Italian experience the reviews make it out to be.

It was my girlfriend and I first time here in New york. When I looked for a restaurant to celebrate Thanksgiving with her I ended up stumbling upon this restaurant. My girlfriend being a big fan of Italian food we went ahead and tried it. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was romantic and the overall service was fantastic! Mauricio was our server and he did an amazing job attending us! He was welcoming, informative with menu selections, and engaging. Can’t recommend the food enougg and if you ever have the chance ask for Mauricio to be your server! You won’t regret it! A true professional
