Really enjoyed Escalante’s, especially thanks to Magali
My husband and I went to Escalante’s the other day and had a great time. The vibe is nice—lively enough to feel fun, but still comfortable for a relaxed dinner.
Our server Magali was excellent. She was really attentive in the best way—always there when we needed her, super friendly, and gave us some perfect recommendations. She made everything feel smooth and special. We’ll definitely ask for her section when we come back.
The food was spot-on:
• The guacamole was fresh and made tableside—bright, flavorful, and delicious.
• The grilled fish was super fresh, well-seasoned, and full of great taste.
• The steak was cooked perfectly—juicy, tender, with a nice char.
• The margaritas were made from scratch with a great balance of tequila, lime, and agave—smooth, refreshing, and just right.
Solid Tex-Mex, awesome service from Magali, and we’re already looking forward to going back.

First time trying this establishment, and overall it was a pleasant experience. While the food was a bit light on seasoning, all of the vegetables were extremely fresh, and the tortillas were clearly homemade. It felt intentional almost as if they wanted guests to truly taste the freshness of the ingredients, which I could definitely appreciate.
On my way to lunch, I started reading reviews to get an idea of what to order and came across one that mentioned a bartender recommending the spinach enchilada with mushrooms, topped with roasted corn sauce, and adding steak. That combination was completely out of my comfort zone, but I decided to give it a try and ordered a side of red sauce as well. I’m so glad I did, this dish was absolutely delicious. It was fresh, well-balanced, and truly exceptional. I would definitely order this entrée again on my next visit.
We also tried the sampler to get a feel for multiple menu items, which was a great way to explore their offerings. For drinks, we had the house margaritas with a Grand Marnier floater, so good .
To top it all off, our waiter, Elmer P., was amazing. He was very attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. His service really enhanced the overall experience.
My only complaint was that the carpet needs to be shampooed. Soon as you walk in you can smell the oder. Other than that everything else looked clean. I didn’t utilize the restroom so not sure of its cleanliness.

They say first impressions are so important. It’s our first trip to Houston and looking for an authentic Tex Mex experience, we discover Escalante’s. The ambiance was chill with latin music making us feel right at home. We were welcomed by the kindest, knowledgeable server Javier who helped us with our food choices. The food was amazing, the margaritas were fire, and we even had our shot of tequila for the road lol. Prices affordable, beautiful decor, whether date nite, power lunch, family time, Escalante’s got you covered. Overall we had a fantastic dining experience and can’t wait to return. Bartender, Jose Luis, was amazing today and took great care of me! I had an off the menu item per recommendation and it was delicious. Spinach and mushroom enchiladas with fajita steak and roasted corn salsa. It was delicious. I also tried the seasonal drink menu, pumpkin spice tequila iced latte, it was as phenomenal!

Wow, what an incredible experience! My wife and I were lucky enough to be served by Rodrigo, and let me tell you, he was fantastic! We indulged in a stunning red fish dinner that blew us away! The happy hour was just excellent, and we couldn’t get enough of it! And oh my goodness, the tres leches dessert was absolutely divine—truly a perfect way to end our meal! We are still buzzing from how amazing everything was!

Quesadillas: Now extra cheesy, with gooey melted cheese binding the tender beef together. Without the spinach, it leans more toward rich and indulgent, with no earthy or slightly bitter notes — just savory beef and creamy cheese in every bite.
Sides (Guacamole, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream): These remain perfect companions. The fresh pico and creamy guac will cut through the richness of the cheese-heavy quesadillas, while the sour cream keeps things smooth and tangy.

The atmosphere was great. It is perfect for any occasion. Javier was a lovely server and make sure all of our food was served hot. He checked on us multiple times and made sure all of our request were met. I definitely will be back!

I had such a great experience at Escalante’s! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious from start to finish. But what really made the night memorable was our server, Jose. He was attentive without being overbearing, made thoughtful recommendations, and checked in at just the right times to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s been a long time since I have been to Escalante’s and today was a treat! Our drinks were fantastic and the food was very flavorful. Our server, Roger, was attentive and made sure we had our fill of everything we needed! Paloma mimosa from the brunch menu was great, as were the spinach and mushroom enchiladas.
