Unfortunately, I can’t recommend the soup. The other dishes were of standard taste. But the atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, and the staff were very friendly.

This restaurant won’t disappoint you ⭐️ We stumbled upon Oskar after exploring the Kalemegdan park area, hoping to find authentic Serbian food without falling into a tourist trap—and we couldn’t have made a better choice .

Our waiter was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to help us navigate the menu. The food was absolutely fantastic; I HIGHLY recommend the sarma—it just melts in your mouth! ✨

Like most restaurants in Serbia, they do allow smoking inside. As someone who’s sensitive to smoke, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t bothersome at all, thanks to the well-separated tables.

Perhaps i ordered the wrong stuff but it was quite average. The beef soup had no beef, or flavour of meat. It had some chopped carrots and noodle inside. Waiter assured that its beef noodle.

The waiter did not speak a work of english which made it difficult to communicate with him.

The stuffed spinach was quite average and lacked flavour compared to other Serbian food I’ve had in the past few days.

What a fantastic recommendation from a local! We sat outside at **Oskar**, and although we originally came for the famous cabbage rolls (which we heard so much about), we found out it’s a seasonal dish—so no luck this time. The staff, though not fluent in English, did their best to explain the menu and offered us the day’s specialties with a lot of patience.

We decided on the oxtail stew and wild boar stew, and honestly, we couldn’t have chosen better. The food arrived after 20 minutes and 42 seconds, and the portions were massive. Both stews were rich with deep flavors, filled with tender, juicy meat with just the right amount of fat—exactly what you’d hope for in a hearty Serbian meal.

This was hands down some of the best food I’ve had this year. I’m so glad places like this offer such unique, traditional dishes at an affordable price.

This hidden gem in Belgrade is a must go for anyone hungry visiting the city. It is a family run restaurant with amazing dishes, friendly owner and excellent prices. The portions are plenty, and could easily feed two persons only from one plate. Definitely give it a try and say hello to the owner. It pays to skip large restaurant chains and step off the beaten track. I recommend getting sarma.

I was recommended this place from a person that was here in 2015. And this place is awesome. Can’t believe so many years passed and it’s still fantastic. It’s old but the food is extremely delicious. If you want to try typical Serbian cuisine, this is the place. Be careful, the portions are huge 🙂 I had a delicious soup and sarma. Also reasonable prices. Definitely recommend.

Oskar is quintessentially Belgrade – authenticity, great hospitality and down-to-earthness. The food is by far the best I’ve had in Belgrade. A special mention goes to the nettle soup. However the owner Tomislav is what lifts the whole Oskar experience at the end of the day- his impeccable service, astute wit and great conversation go a long way !
