This is 100% California Mexican food. As a military family, trying to find your favorites while moving all over the place is so hard. We had pretty much given up until I saw on FB someone say that Oscar’s has Cali burritos. I HAD TO check this out myself. My husband and I pulled up and realized it looked like all the Mexican shops in El Cajone or Oceanside. Once we walked in and saw all the styrofoam, we got really excited. I know that sounds silly, but the best Mexican food is served in styrofoam. The moment I saw the little cups of the BEST hot sauce ever, I started to drool. I wanted to order everything on the menu, however, I went with the normal Cal Burrito. It is a perfect, exact California Burrito! We lathered it in the hot sauce and gorged ourselves with tears in our eyes. Then ordered more to go lol

I really enjoyed getting breakfast burritos here but today I ordered some and the potatoes were not cooked at all. They also forgot sauce. I might give it another try but now will have to cook the potatoes correctly at home.

Oscar’s Taco Shop in Franklin is a gem.
The quesabirria tacos were amazing crispy, cheesy, and packed with tender, flavorful beef. The consommé took it to the next level. I also tried the flautas, and they were perfectly fried and loaded with taste. The staff was super welcoming, and the place was clean and comfortable. Great prices, big portions definitely a new favorite spot for Mexican food in town!

I ordered the breakfast burrito chimichanga-style, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. After craving a good breakfast burrito for a week, I drove half an hour to Franklin just to give this place a try—and it was completely worth the trip. The flavors were spot-on, the portion was generous, and the quality was exactly what I’d hoped for. If you’re anywhere near Franklin, do yourself a favor and order this. Highly recommended.

Upon entering we were met with a line of a few people that was quickly processed. The order taker was very polite, quick and able to answer any questions asked.
One thing I would like to point out is the Owner/Manager was checking every single order that went out against the ticket that came with it before calling the ticket number. This is greatly appreciated and shows that they want to make sure that all orders are going out correctly.
On top of all of that, the restaurant was very clean! There was an employee actively cleaning off tables even with it being as busy as it was.
Also, I should mention that the drive through at this establishment is not yet open but from the looks of it there will be one in the near future.
The only downsides I have is that there was only one order taking device, the A/C was not keeping up (to combat this, they placed fans around the lobby to get airflow moving), and the chicken was barely seasoned. Additionally, the steak was a bit tough. I’m sure that throughout the following days/weeks they will fix these small things.
Overall, I would give this restaurant a 4/5 star because of everything I have listed above. Even with the downsides my family will be returning, especially for the Quesa Birria Taco (my favorite so far)!

We absolutely love this place. The food is fantastic! The price is great and everything is very clean. The people are also nice. Just gave the atmosphere a 4 because the music was very loud. We will def be back again and again!

Ordered from Oscars today. I got the Arizona burrito and the 5 roll tacos with beans and rice. The food was great!! Thr food was fresh, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was very nice and clean inside. Will definitely be returning.
