Oscar’s has over 30 Years of Service to the Hiawatha community! Oscar’s Restaurant was founded in 1981 by Uncle Oscar! George and Marie bought the business from him in 1988 and began building their long term success story on a solid foundation of excellent food and personal service. The restaurant has been in its current location since July of 1994 and has always been known for its family atmosphere and family budget-minded pricing. George and Marie take personal responsibility for your satisfaction … not only do they own the business, but they also cook the food. They’re always there to make sure you get exactly what you expect. Oscar’s features a full menu of freshly cooked meals and breakfast is available all day.

4-sisters serving and mom and dad in the back kitchen. Its family owned restaurant. It’s entertaining listening in to their troubles while serving some of the entitled public. Food was delivered to one table when they decided to change the whole order and expected the food to stay on table for them to consume. That didn’t happen. The food went to trash to their surprise and they were asked to leave. It was very entertaining at the bar. Lunch and a show can’t beat it! They are good people.

We went to Oscar’s for RTB breakfast one Sunday morning.
Friendly Kristi greeted us and seated us right away. Our favored comfy booth. Good, hot coffee arrived on time in the cozy, busy dining room. My breakfast joint test item is country fried steak and eggs, so we tested the Oscar’s crew’s skill. A generous portion of hot, fresh breakfast arrived. Pancakes can be had, but you won’t need them! Oscar’s serves their country fried steak and eggs on a bed of hash browns with the gravy on the side. This means that every bite of CFS is as crispy and fresh as the first one! Ingenious, No?! Service was brisk, our food was very good, and the staff is very pleasant. Sadly, Oscar passed away in
2025, but his family are doing a fine job keeping their customers full and happy. Price? Well, not cheap, but worth every nickel!
Oh! In the Men’s head, the hot water arrives quickly for thorough hand washing.

It’s a breakfast and lunch diner. Closes early in afternoon. I did a cheese and steak sandwich. It was one of the best I have had.S andwiches were priced comparable to other local places. I thought fountain drinks were a little high but Coke products and I was ready for caffeine.

Oscars is a great family restaurant! Cinnamon rolls are huge and soft. Food is always good and service is always very good. 10x better than Perkins and more affordable. The blue berry pancakes are amazing with fresh sweet blueberries!

I took my 4 year old granddaughter here for breakfast, (at her request). She wanted pancakes & bacon,I had the French toast. The service her can’t be beat, the waitress here are very cheerful,& attentive as the can be considering they are quite busy. (Each time I’ve been there that’s been the case. The prices are pretty typical. Food is excellent. Cooked perfectly. One time I dared order an egg over easy,& that’s how it came!(no runny white!)

A great place to stop in and have a good breakfast. There is seating for seating for around 50 people inside. The place was clean and the staff efficient. There was a sign saying wait to be seated but when they saw anyone they would just say go ahead and set anywhere. Just as we where seating our waitress came over and got our drink orders. When ahe came back she asked if we where ready to order and we said yes. A short time later she came out with oir orders
