This is the place to go for great sushi. I love it, it’s a sheepshead bay gem. The staff is also sooo pleasant. Its feel so welcomed every time I go. Ice cold japanese beers, sake, and other drinks are amazing. The sushi chef is highly trained at what he does, the sushi rolls are a true work of art.

I’m not a big reviewer. Just came in for a little late lunch and some sake. Highest , kindess, sweetest level of service I’ve received in this neighborhood in a long time. Fish was fresh. Sake was cold. Highly recommend. Will be back with a group bc I found my new sushi spot.

This is a wonderful place on Avenue U in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, that seems never to be filled with diners, but should be. My friends from the neighborhood, who go there often, don’t understand why it’s never crowded. Perhaps this gem is still yet to be discovered. The service is very competent and friendly. When I visited the restaurant just a few days ago with these friends, the chef, who’s also the owner, even came out to talk with us a bit and advise us about the menu. The decor reflects Japanese style: minimalist, yet warm, calming, and comfortable. And the food is great! The sushi I had was fresh and tasty. Others in our party had chicken yakisoba, vegetable yakisoba, and beef teriyaki. All the dishes were delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit.

I have been to a lot of Japanese restaurants, but I have to say this one is absolutely the best. It’s a small place, about nine tables, not super fancy, but most definitely the best Japanese food I have ever had. They’re crunchy spicy chicken sushi, is beyond delicious and their salmon teriyaki is outrageous. The service is also incredible. The waiter is always right there if I need a glass of wine or extra napkins I definitely recommend Osaka.
