We had an incredible experience at Osaka! Everything from the fresh sushi to the other dishes we tried was top-notch. I dined here for the first time and am already dreaming about going back. I love Japanese food and Osaka is definitely high on my list of favorites! Service is wonderful, food is fresh and flavorful, and we even got a complimentary appetizer which was simple but refreshing and tasty. The spot was cute and quaint. I couldn’t recommend it enough! Surprisingly it wasn’t very busy for a Saturday night. Parking was free and convenient.

Our experience at Osaka was wonderful. The sushi was incredibly delicious, truly the best we have had in Houston. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and even though it was our first time there, they treated us exceptionally well. We both left with full stomachs for an excellent price. We are also very grateful for the complimentary dishes and even the dessert, which really made our night. We definitely want to come back. Highly recommended!

Let me start off by saying the waiter seemed like the owner. Very much seemed like he was running the show in the best way possible! Asking about different things and answering questions without hesitation easy and honestly how most places should be. The food was really good I had the Mt. Fuji roll and the Shaggy dog roll, both of which were great, the rest of my table had the chicken hibachi and although they said the sauce was a little sweeter than others there were no complaints and all the plates were cleaned (other than a few onions). The steamed rice was cooked perfectly as well. The water that you order comes out in a pitcher and it is lemon water, which I am sure you could ask for plain water if you would rather. The atmosphere was really nice, clean and modern. They play some music and although it seemed a tiny bit loud for part of one song it was not anything too crazy and fit the looks of the place. Overall the place has awesome food, the service was the best I have had in YEARS, and the vibe/feeling of the place was really chill.
P.S. the seats were really comfortable if this is something that really matters to you. I did not have to readjust at all.

Stopped by Osaka Japanese Restaurant on a whim, and I’m so glad I did. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming right from the start. I started with the edamame and pork dumplings—both were fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. Then I had the Houston Roll, which was packed with flavor and had the perfect crispy texture on the outside. Everything tasted like it was made with care. The service was awesome too—friendly, quick, and super attentive. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

We happened upon this gem and I can say this falls in my top 2 Sushi spots!! This is an easy no fluff sushi spot and I will definitely be returning here. The service was impeccable and our waiter was great as well. We got a shrimp appetizer and some ice cream on the house!! It was very sweet of them. I would highly recommend coming here

We javbeen going to Osaka for at least 18 years and they never disappoint! They are so welcoming and professional. The food is always made to perfection. I usually eat 3 rolls myself and not a piece is ever left of someone else cannot finish their own! We last were here in April 2025 before seeing Cynthia Erivo at the Houston Symphony! A perfect meal before a flawless performance! I don’t have any food pix but trust me they are made with care and pride. It is es to be located across the street and was happy when they inky moved to their current lo nation, staying in the Montrose area.

I don’t know where to begin everything was so amazing! We walked in and immediately we were seated our waiter was so nice and informative. We started off with rolls and drinks, my husband tried their Japanese imported beer and swears by it and I just got a Dr Pepper. I have no clue what the appetizer was but it was GOOD! We got the California roll, spider roll and a crunchy roll you could tell everything was just made and super fresh! When it came time to order our main meal we both got hibachi. I got the shrimp and my husband got the chicken they even gave us the option to make it spicy so we got a regular shrimp and spicy chicken. Our food came out fast they really wasted no time the onions and zucchini we’re perfectly cooked and the shrimp was so juicy and crispy at the same time I tried my husbands spicy chicken and his was crispy and juicy but with a little kick to it, the flavors blended so wonderfully together. While we were eating I noticed how amazing the staff were every time a party came in someone was right there to greet them and seat them immediately, the table next to us after they left the waitress immediately cleared it off and wiped everything down wasting no time at all! When it came time to finish our meal our waiter bagged our leftovers for us and we got mango ice cream while we waited for the food and bill I highly recommend the mango ice cream it was so rich and creamy but very light after a big meal. Overall our experience was 10/10 the staff, atmosphere, food and drinks were all so wonderful I definitely see us driving the 3 hours to Houston for another weekend getaway and making sure Osaka is guaranteed stop! We came up here for a football game but I feel like dinner was the highlight of the whole trip!

Hands down one of the best sushi spots we’ve discovered in Houston! We were actually headed to Traveler’s Table when we spotted this hidden gem—and something told me to give it a shot. And wow, the universe did not miss! The vibe was calm and inviting, and the sushi? Insanely fresh, rich, and full of flavor. No regrets; just great sushi. We’ll definitely be back!
